ICam Source shuts down - need help
« on: June 03, 2012, 02:57:49 PM »
Using icam source 2.4.1 on an old powerbook 12" aluminum running tiger. Using an isight external camera connected through firewire.
Recently had to reinstall OS due to corrupt hard drive.  Now with new install, Icam is unexpectedly shutting down.  sometimes after 15 minutes to an hour.  No rhyme or reason, just shuts down.  Computer still running fine when this happens.  Have all power saving features set to "never turn off" anything.
Also tried new 2.4.4 beta, but with no luck.  icam still shutting down.
Any ideas?
Btw, icam ran great on this machine before my reinstall for couple of years.  Also, I've ran all updates on OS.
PLEASE HELP!!!

If iCamSource is crashing, there should be crash logs.

The crash logs would be in:

/Users/<Your Username>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/iCamSource_<date_time>.crash.log

or in:

/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/iCamSource_<date_time>.crash.log

If you are running Mac OS 10.6.3: they moved the crash logs to /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports or /Users/<YourUsername>/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

If you find crash logs, please send the most recent one to support@skjm.com. Also, please reference this forum post and your user name in your email.
