Android ICS 4.02 crash on startup
« on: March 24, 2012, 11:13:51 AM »
Bought iCam 1.5 from the Android store, and on startup after I agree to the terms/conditions the login window starts to render, but the app immediately crashes afterward.  I tried clearing the app data and get the same problem each time.

This is a Galaxy Nexus with ICS 4.02

I looked at the logcat and see this error:

Thank you for your e-mail, and I am sorry that you are having problems.

Please delete iCam from your device and re-download it from the Android Market. If you use the same Google account you will not be charged a second time.

Thanks again,

Lorena

Do you have the latest Android version from your device manufacturer / carrier installed?

Yep, latest builds of ROM and Kernel are installed.

I included the stacktrace with the io exception, would it be possible for someone to take a look at whats being attempted in the code?

Does iCam crash when you first launch it after clearing the application data? Or only after you have entered a login and password? If it doesn't crash until after you enter a login and password, have you tried entering a different login and password combination in both iCam and the iCamSource?

It crashes before I can enter the login or password.  I can see the fields to enter them, but before I can do it the app stops.

Have you rebooted the device?

On your Android phone,  go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications and then choose iCam and the "Clear Data".  Then try connecting again.

When the app is first launched with cleared app data you should see the EULA, accept that, then see the Login Required message, and tap OK. Where in that process does the app crash? Or do you have to start entering login info for it to crash?
