iMac & multiples cameras

I have a 3 1/2 year old iMac that has the USB problem that won't support multiple cameras in iCam.  Does this problem exist with new iMacs?

Unfortunately, we've not had any particular reports of whether not Apple has fixed this issue on the current models iMacs.
