Camera and mouse compatibility
« on: July 23, 2009, 02:56:14 PM »
Hi

I am using a Goodtec cam with lenovo laptop running XP Pro.  Any idea why each time I start iCam I lose control of my MS USB mouse?  Only the touchpad will work.   Does this have something to do with port interrupts?  Can you suggest a solution?

Thanks!

Jack

Is your webcam Built-In or is it externally plugged in via USB?

If you use the webcam with any other software, does your mouse stop working?

It sounds like a hardware problem, actually. Are these devices plugged into a USB hub, or directly into the computer?

Its a USB Cam, and I use the software it came with, as well as iCam for XP.

I agree it is a hardware issue.  Do you have suggestions?   Could there be resolvable conflicts?  Anyone else report similar conflicts?

This is the first issue I have heard of such a thing happening ... You might want to contact your laptop's manufacturer or visit their support forums, because it appears to be an issue with their USB bus or drivers.
