Do other programs (like Skype, Yahoo, etc) recognize the camera? Do you have the proper drivers installed for it? The latest drivers?

I did update the drivers from the logitech website, when I use Yahoo it automatically turns on the cam on my notebook and not the logitech cam. I think the USB interface on cam is 1.1 and the USB port on the computer is 2.0, could that be the problem?

It looks like Yahoo doesn't recognize the USB cam either, I opened Yahoo and tried to switch cams and the only cam that showed was the isight cam.

Maybe the camera is broken? Or you got the wrong drivers or the drivers are corrupted? Try installing it on another computer and see if it works. I doubt it's a USB 1.1 vs. 2.0 issue. I think that mainly comes down to speed. It could potentially be a power issue. Is the camera plugged directly into the computer's USB port, or hooked up to a USB hub and/or extension cable?

I can view the camera when I open it using the quick cam software, I'll check to see if I downloaded the wrong drivers and I'll install on another laptop and see what happens. The camera is connected to the computers USB.

Are you connecting your webcam to a Mac? If so, does it work in Photobooth or iChat?

I am connecting to a mac but I've not tried either of those, I did connect it to an HP laptop with some success, I was able to use it with Yahoo messenger but then could not view both the mac built in camera and the logitech connected to the HP at the same time with my icam app on my iphone. So, I just bought a new logitech C270H webcam that some reviewers on another site said could be installed on a mac......we'll see if I can figure out to install it. Any advice?

I have to say I'm kinda impressed right now, just plugged in the new web cam, no software install or anything and I'll be damned! opened up the icam source and the icam app and there it was! crystal clear streaming video on my iphone from 2 cameras. However, this leads me to another question, when I click start on the icam source do all cameras start or can I just start the ones that i want at that time?
