New to ICAM
« on: April 20, 2009, 02:22:06 PM »
Hello,

I just installed icam on my computer (windows vista) and my iphone and I love it, works great. what i am wondering is how I go about installing over cameras and what type of cameras do i need to get and install. I am hoping to be using this as a nanny cam and i want to place a few more cameras around my house. Can i use a wireless camera? Any help I would appreciate as I want to use all 4 camera options. Thanks

Jay

Any USB camera that supports your operating system should work fine with iCam.  Unfortunately, iCam doesn't work with network or wi-fi cameras, since they are not recognized by Windows or Mac OS as standard webcams.

Thanks for the reply. I am not computer savy and have no idea what you just said. are you saying the only way to add more cameras is to plug them all into my computer, and run wires all through my house? Or is there an easier way?

Yes, that's right.  iCam supports USB webcams, which have a direct wired connection to the computer.
