I did just that last night.  I deleted the app and reinstalled it.  I believe the version I am running is 4.3.3(8J2).  I am looking at the setup options right now and it looks like I can pick Front once again.

The ipCam worked great for the last week until I made a mistake in the setup.  I have an iPhone 3GS with no forward camera.  I don't know what I was thinking when I pressed the Front in the Options menu.  Now ipCam just shuts down when I try to go back and switch it to the Back camera.     HELP!   :)

iCam Support / UPnP May Not be Enabled
« on: June 03, 2011, 11:04:17 PM »
Just a note.  I am spreading my six cameras between two computers to optimize camera performance.  One computer is directly connected to the modem and the other is connected wirelessly.  The computer that is directly connected has a UPnP Success message once I start iCamSource.  The wireless computer gets a UPnP May Not be Enabled message.  My modem is UPnP enabled.

Any Suggestions?  Oh and I am using the Beta version 2.3.

Running it by itself it works great.  With three other cameras still pretty good. After that it starts faltering.  I guess I went overboard with 6 cameras running on iCamSource.

I didn't know if you had meant to incorporated this fix in the latest Beta Verison 2.3, but I just wanted to let you know I do in fact get the same type of ghost images in this Beta.

I looked in the Task Manager under Processes.  The CPU on this computer runs anywhere from 50 to 64.  Memory run anywhere from 43,000k to 84,000k.

I will try to run the AirLink by itself and let you know.

Like what I see thus far.  Testing is working real good as well.  In the future, a division of six zones leaving a center column and row would be very helpful for motion detection.

The iphone is on the same network as the iCamSource.  The other cameras just pickup even more images now with the settings we described.  There are just two differences....
1. The Airlink camera seems to be...let's say inconsistant.  Sometimes it doesn't even pick up right away.  Sometimes there are skips in the middle or at the end of the recording.  The Linksys WVC80N however seems to be picking up more and from beginning to end.  When observing the camera through the source, there are much more images that could be captured.
2. The settings now record even the slightess motion and I end up with numerous 1 frame no movement recordings and frames with 278 recordings.

Just to let you and anyone reading know I love this app.  Not complaining, just trying to get it right.

I made sure the slider is on More Often.  In the past I had it 2/3 rds the way towards Most Often.  I had my son walk as I observed the viewer.  It was very fluid in its preview,  I saw more than 35 possilbe pictures of his walk (he did walk slow).  When I looked at the Motion Events.  There was 10.

To better summarize what has occured.  I am now picking up images about every 1.5 seconds to 1.75 seconds with these settings.

When I sent you the post yesterday I was receiving images anywhere from 3 to 5 seconds.

Any suggestions on improving it more....?

Oh and my setting for frame rate is 2/3 rds away from Better Image Quality or 1/3 away from Frame Rate.

Catches about one more frame per person walking up to front door.  Still not as good as I would like to see it.

I have the SkyIPCam 777w camera and it's not half bad for night vision and looking remotely.  There is an issue however that it only pics up about half the images generated by the motion detection that my other cameras pickup.  I may get three images of someone walking around my front door when spending about 10 seconds wandering through.  This is either recorded, looking at it through the PC or on the iPhone.  Where as someone spending the same amount of time around my driveway I get 8-10 images.  The camera I have pointed at my driveway is the WVC80N camera.  I have set the better frame rate to the max to try to pickup more images on the 777, but to no avail.
Airlink has an app to view and record images from their cameras.  I looked at their results and much like the WVC80N I got multiple images.  Any suggestions for me in the setup?  Oh and I downloaded 2.2.3 as well yesterday.

Thanks,
Merlin
