I'm thinking the Mac also when my wireless goes down.

We are going to try and replicate the loss of WiFi to the computer and cameras to see if we can replicate the crash. In the meantime is there any reason that you know of that your WiFi network is so unstable?

We're on timewarner in Hawaii, and sometimes they have periodic problems. Get about 5-9 mb/sec.  The router is a few years old. I regularly run antivirus and such on my systems. I guess we can do a sweep on my niece's computer to see if she has any spyware.

So far, has been crashing consistently when wifi cams lose connection, even when local laptop cam is on.

Does the Mac also lose its WiFi connection? Or just the cameras?

iCam Support / Re: iCam captures should be viewable if cam is offline

Have the images saved to a Dropbox account.

Yes, that can be configured. But I was mostly talking about the interface.

For example, the pictures are still there on the iCamSource host computer. Why not make them available via the same interface with an archive area, or show the camera offline but saved captures are available for viewing.

Currently, the ipCam doesn't even show and the captures can't be accessed.

iCam Support / iCam captures should be viewable if cam is offline

When running iCamSource, if I want to view previous captures, then I need to run the corresponding ipCam.  I would like to recommend an upgrade to allow previous captures to be viewable even if the ipCam is off.

This would allow users to be able to see captures even if the dog knocks your ipCam offline or it gets stolen or whatever.

Thank you for the awesome software!

ipCam Support / IPCam port for the iPad
« on: December 23, 2011, 09:47:46 PM »
Hello,

I was able to use IPCam on my iPhones, and dedicate ports and static ip addresses to them.  I punched holes in the firewall and am able to view them outside the local network.

When I try to do the same with my iPad, it will only stay on port 80.

Please help.

Thanks

How many cameras are you running and what are the Brand/Models of each?

I'm using 2 iPhone cameras, 1 iPad, and the built in mac camera.  So 4 in all.  When network goes down, then iCamSource crashes.

It does still crash even when I have the mac laptop camera enabled as one of the cams.  Seems to be related to when my wireless has trouble.

Hello, Great program!

Would like to confirm that when all cams are shut down, the iCamSource crashes. Got around this on my Mac laptop by setting up my built in camera as one of the cams that get monitored. Didn't really want to do this, but it seems stable now.

Hope this helps.
