iCam Support / Re: Logitech Pro 9000 on Mac not working with iCamSource
« on: September 30, 2010, 06:53:08 PM »
The older version immediately worked on both computers. Thank you! I hadn't noticed it, and I wouldn't have thought of it. I'm going to run the system now for a few days and see if it keeps working.

I am, of necessity, using a 3 ft. extension plugged directly into the computer, but the only other USB on the intended computer is the mouse. I had tried several different extensions, from different manufacturers, and even moved the computer, temporarily, close enough to where I installed the camera to plug it in directly. Nothing helped until I went to the earlier software, at your suggestion. In all cases, iChat would always work flawlessly.

iCam Support / Logitech Pro 9000 on Mac not working with iCamSource
« on: September 30, 2010, 11:25:00 AM »
I have iCamSource running on two different Macs, one, my main computer with Snow Leopard and one newly-initialized with ordinary Leopard and no other foreign software whatsoever.  Both are Mac Minis.  The first is a brand-new one, the second several years older, explaining why I'm only using ordinary Leopard.

I'm attempting to use a Logitech Pro 9000 but am having the exact same problem with both computers:

When I open iCamSource, I get one of three things:  Once in a great while, I get a good moving image that will last for a while.  Usually, I get a white screen followed by a single still image. Sometimes I only get the white screen.  There is no apparent pattern. If I open iChat, however, I always get a smooth, perfect image, so the camera and the connection are both good.

It would appear that either something is blocking the video stream from getting to iCamSource, or iCamSource is just flat-out incompatible.  Since others don't seem to be having a problem using the Logitech Pro 9000, I'm hoping it is the former. I downloaded, reinstalled, plugged and unplugged until my fingers started bleeding. (Slight exaggeration.) Nothing I've tried has helped. Can anyone help me?
