Setting FFDShow Video to exclude iCamSource.exe seems to have solved the problem!  The speed is closer to one frame ~2 seconds on WiFi, but that is still a significant improvement, meaning the immediate problem was solved.  For others like me who search and find this thread and have K-Lite Codec pack installed, here is what you do:

1) Go to Start > All Programs > K-Lite Codec Pack > Configuration > ffdshow video decoder
2) In the list on the left, select "DirectShow control"
3) On the right, make sure the "Don't use ffdshow in:" box is checked and click "Edit..."
4) Click "Add..."
5) Locate your iCamSource.exe file, mine was in "C:\Program Files (x86)\iCamSource\iCamSource.exe"
6) Click "OK"
7) Click Apply if you want, or OK and close out of the configuration screen.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Was a fix for this problem ever found?  I am running an Xbox Live Vision webcam on Vista Ultimate 64-bit, paired with iCamSource 2.1.1 and iCam 2.0, and am having the exact problems described (after 1-2 secs of operation, further updates take 20s - 1min, with only one new frame shown per minute).

I don't think the drivers are a problem, because the webcam works perfectly with Skype.  I don't think it is the connection to the iPhone, because the problem shows in the iCamSource, iCamWeb, and iPhone even on the same local WiFi network.

So far, I have tried updating the camera drivers and disabling motion detection to no avail.  I can get slightly-better-but-still-very-choppy video by moving the slider for image quality all the way to the left for faster updates, but then of course the quality takes a nose dive.

One possible clue I noticed is that each time I start and stop iCamSource, a new instance of the ffdshow video decoder appears in my tray.  They don't disappear until I close the iCamSource completely and then mouse over them.  Do you think this could be related?  I believe ffdshow came with the k-lite codec pack I use.  Of course, this tray icon does not appear when I use the webcam in Skype, but always appears when I start the camera in iCamSource.

Thank you in advance for any help or insight!
