Hey guys,
I was wondering if it would be possible to somehow implement a microphone only option into iCamSource? This way a user could listen to what is happening when someone is using their computer, and the green camera light would not be active. Also this may already be possible but, maybe the option to hide iCamSource from the Menu bar? Thanks 3

Thanks! 4

Or only one or two (or a few) at a time? It may be that an internal watchdog timer is firing and resetting everything, but the old threads are not being closed down appropriately. Ive only ever seen it once where it wasnt every camera being duplicated. Every other time it's all the cameras. 5

Or are some stale / old? Also, are you using network IP cameras or USB webcams? They're live, and even seem to be slowing the framerates down. If I quit and realunch iCamSource it goes back to normal. There's no real pattern I can see as to it acting up. I did not have the problem with the beta if that helps... I am using two USB and three IP, they all get doubled and if I leave it long enough, trippled. 6

Was wondering about a Vertical orientation mode for the iPad? Be nice when its docked on my desk to watch the cameras
Here is a quick mockup http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4143/4907587513_cbf0b3a1f3_o.png Also, this is what I was talking about with the spacing in my last post; http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4100/4908193532_c02c503612_o.png So far no real bugs to report in terms of connections etc, seems to be in great working order! Keep up the great work! 9
Beta Testing / Re: iCam 2.0 BETA« on: August 18, 2010, 06:54:57 PM »UPDATE : Thank you to everyone who has applied to the BETA test. If you e-mailed us your UDID information before around 1 PM PST you should be included in the first phase. We are currently getting everything built and put together, so you should receive an e-mail later today detailing the steps necessary to get started. Almost forgot to try the iPad! Works over WiFi and 3G, same as iPhone. iPhone is no longer doing the extra row thing. Both iPhone/iPad are working in both landscape positions, rotating without issue. Push notifications are also working, along with recording (toggling them on the iDevice works fine as well). Small UI suggestions, maybe filling the whole screen horizontally, and putting small spaces on the sides of the feeds until the outer feeds touch the sides of the bezel. Maybe also allowing to swipe left/right to switch to next or previous camera. (Im sure its because its ad-hoc, but iTunes doesn't show it as universal. 10
Beta Testing / Re: iCamSource 2.0 BETA« on: August 18, 2010, 06:18:45 PM »It was happening on the source app, and on iCam, I tested it at work with the built in iSight and another camera and couldnt get it to do the same thing. When I got home I tested some more, it was still happening. I seem to have fixed the problem by trashing the iCam prefs and starting over... I'll let you know if it happens again :S Trashed the iCamSource prefs No problem, beta is looking great! 11

Using two USB cameras, and three Cisco WVC80N's So far all (5) cams are working great over WiFi and 3G, 1st bug noticed is iCam doesn't always judge how many cameras it should display at the main screen properly. For example sometimes I'll get the 5 cameras Im using, and 1 black space filler, and sometimes Ill get the 5, and like 7 black fillers. Other than that, awesomeness. (also the refresh button is still not Retina resolution ) 12

Further testing seems to show this happens only when the cameras are in "broadcast" mode, i.e. "Started"

Beta Testing / Re: iCamSource 2.0 BETA« on: August 17, 2010, 08:47:32 PM »That shouldn't be the case, no. Hmm, did some testing, looks like almost 1/10 times I change something on one camera, it applies changes to all cams... Whether it be deleting settings for a day altogether or just changing the time. Very weird! This is on beta 2.0.3 by thee way. |
