Another alternative to hiding the icon is by using Bartender, here's a link: http://www.macbartender.com

What I did to fix this problem is install dropbox and make icam save the files to my dropbox folder so that I can view the pics online at anytime. Works great!

Hey how well does that work for you? I've been thinking about buying a couple airport express stations just for icam. You are using OSX correct? Did the webcams plug into the airport and work? If so what kind of cams did you get?
