iCam Support / Bandwidth Question

Hello,
I am just curious whether this program uses internet bandwidth when you are NOT viewing the webcam via the iphone (or via another computer). For example, does the source program provide a constant internet feed or does it only provide the feed when the user tries to access the computer?
I appreciate any help I can get. My stupid IP provider seriously limits my bandwidth use, but this program sounds great to monitor my dogs away from home.
