Network / IP Camera Compatibility / Re: Hikvision cam compatability
« on: September 24, 2017, 06:29:44 PM »

If the MJPEG or JPEG URL isn’t something that can be found by searching around with Google or by contacting their support, we actually have another solution available, although it is currently in its very preliminary stages, and that is: http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg_test.php

^^^^^ This is awesome.  It found one path that worked for my camera!

iCam Support / TrendNet TV-IP551WI 401 Webcam Authorization Failure
« on: January 12, 2015, 09:00:01 PM »
Hi,
I recently updated the firmware in my TrendNet TV-IP551WI  to version 1.06.08 (2014-03-11).
It works fine in Chrome but now I get the "401 - Webcam Authorization Failure" error in iCamSource 2.7.2 in Windows 8.1.
I have tried all of the suggested URLs without success.  I have verified my username and password several times.  My other cameras continue to work fine.

Did the camera firmware update disable these protocols or is this a coincidental error?
Is there anything I can do?

Thanks much.

iCam Support / Re: New Release - iOS iCam 2.1 + iCamSource 2.4

What device and what version of iOS are you running?

We are seeing this on non-iOS 5 devices (iPhone 3G and the original iPhone) ... It did not show up in testing, so I am not sure why it is showing up now in release.

I see it on my iPhone 3g/iOS 4.2.1 as well as on my iPod Touch 2G/iOS 4.2.1.
But not on my iPhone 3GS/iOS 5.0.

I installed both new releases, iOS icam 2.1 and iCamSource 2.4.

When I tap on the zoomed-in camera view on the iPhone I see the following:

"Purchase Push on Motion in the Options screen to Send Push Notifications".

What is this?

Do you see this behavior if you run only the Panasonic camera on the second computer?

Please make sure that the webcam drivers are updated on both computers and that both computers are fully updated through Windows Update.

Jay,
Thanks for the reply.
I rebooted both my machines a second time and haven't had the problem again.
If it shows up in the future I will try your suggestion to run only the Panasonic camera to help isolate the source of the problem.

I have two XP computers running iCamSource 2.2.1. One streams a Logitech C905 webcam. The other streams a Logitech C905, a Logitech Pro 9000, and a Panasonic BLC1A IP camera. All have the latest drivers.

Both computers run iCamSource 2.2.1 PERFECTLY for anywhere from a few minutes to two hours before it crashes on both computers (not necessarily at the same time). A Windows error message appears: "iCamSource has encountered a problem and needs to close" with the following information:
AppName: icamsource.exe      AppVer: 0.0.0.0     AppStamp:4d0c3fbf
ModName: ntdll.dll      ModVer: 5.1.2600.5755      ModStamp:49901d48
fDebug: 0       Offset: 00010cbd

No error message appears on the iPhone.

I'm using it with wifi on my home network using a WRT54G router with DD-WRT firmware; port forwarding is set up on the router and in iCamSource on both computers. One is set with a range of 12000 to 12100 and the other 12200 to 12300. Both PCs have static IP addresses assigned.

I've reinstalled iCamSource; ran the registry cleaner file; rebooted both computers; rebooted the router. Still crashes.

Any hints or suggestions?
Thanks!

iCam Support / Re: Safe, fast backup of MJPEG streams via Dropbox!
« on: November 11, 2010, 04:00:01 PM »
Make an alias of that folder by selecting it and control-clicking it and selecting "Make Alias" (if you're using a PC, it'll be a right-click).  Drop that folder in the Dropbox.  You can change the name to something like "iCam files" if you wish, but do not change the name of the original file - the  one with the  long string of apparently random alphanumeric characters.

When I right click in Windows XP there is no option to "Make Alias". What is "Make Alias" and where can I find it?
Thanks.

*UPDATE* I now realize that "Make Alias" is the Mac equivalent of "Create Shortcut" in Windows. But I don't see why creating a shortcut is necessary. I simply have iCam record to the MyDropbox folder.
