iCam Support / image size is cut off when zoomed in
« on: June 18, 2010, 01:28:26 PM »
Jay/Stephan, I really can't say enough good stuff about your app, and the support you provide to your customers, stellar work, I use it daily as both a baby monitor as well as security camera in the driveway.   .

This is really just a recomendation for a future drop of code.  In the last iCam rev, you added the camera name and date on a gray bar, which is cool, but it cuts off some of the actual image.  It's small, but impactful in some situations.  If it's possible to resize the view so the gray info bar is outside of the actual picutre it would be ideal.  One other thing, and forgive me I haven't searched on the topic yet, but support for more than 4 cameras would be great.  I have 5 currently and just run two seperate login ID's which works, but it would be way more convenient to have them all on one.

iCam Support / WiFi camera with night vision recommendation?
« on: February 01, 2010, 10:01:46 PM »
Jay/Stefan...first off, love your app, truly remarkable and so simple to set up.  I'm impressed that you guys are always so responsive to this forum, in my opinion it's this level of support that makes a great product really shine.  Anyway, enough brown nosing, curious if you or other iCam users have recommendations on a good WiFi camera that has night vision.  I see from other posts you guys use  Linksys WVC54GCA (not the WVC54GC) and the Airlink101 SkyIPCam250W, but neither seem to have night vision.  Then I saw on your video of new features, (mice in the attic) you were using a night vision cam.  One other question, I've had issues using two USB camera's on one computer, any issues using two (or even 4) WiFi cameras on one computer?

iCam Support / Re: Push notification and battery drain
« on: November 15, 2009, 08:53:27 PM »
Well in my instance, I have push email, but under settings on my iPhone, Notifications was set to 'Off' prior to installing iCam.  When I installed iCam app, I also paid for the push notification.  I noticed a surprising drain on my battery and after some research it's typical (even Apple says 20%).  So, when I went into the Notifications setting, iCam was the only app showing.  I just toggle that back on, when I want motion notification (which is really only when I'm on vacation, best of both worlds.

iCam Support / Push notification and battery drain

More of an FYI than an issue, a lot of people don't understand push notification will impact your iPhone battery.  If you don't rely on the motion notification, or only enable it sometimes,  it's better to just enable it when you want it via your iPhone settings.  In other words you can take quick view of your cameras with push notification set off "under settings on iPhone" then your battery won't get hit.  A little overkill but battery life is like GOLD. A nice feature add would be to turn push notification off on the iPhone if all cameras in iCam were set to off for motion.

iCam Support / Re: Multiple USB cameras on one computer
« on: November 15, 2009, 05:19:33 PM »
They are plugged in directly to the computer, I tried another computer with a built in webcam with an external usb (thinking that it couldn't handle two of the exact same type of USB cameras) but same result.  Running two instances of iCam Source setting each one to specific audio/video camera, and they work fine independently, but if you try to start the second one after the first one is running successfully, you just get the black screen. (same result on a Lenovo too) Not sure how to test your theory of running another application, but I'd assume the same result.  In other words, not an iCam Source issue, but a Dell video card issue.  Any other thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

iCam Support / Multiple USB cameras on one computer

I've seen some posts that state running multiple instances of the app should work with different cameras, but I'm not having any luck.  I'm using a Dell XP netbook, (no built in webcam) and two of the same usb webcams.  I run two instances of the app, make the name of each unique and select the appropriate video/audio source.  If I run them individually, I can get them to work.  When I run them at the same time, starting the second one will just result in a black screen.  If I stop the first one, then start the second one it works, and vice versa.  Any tricks that you've found to run multiple cameras on one computer?
Thanks, and great app, I was shocked at how easy it was to get up and running, no issues when running independent cameras on independent computers.
