ipCam Support / Ip am and Ipad

I will apologize ahead of time if this has been discussed. I am not tech savvy 
. I downloaded the IpCam app to Ipad thinking I could use it as a webcam and then downloaded the Icam app to my iPhone to monitor. I can't get it to work but maybe it won't. I have downloaded Icam to my computer and the iPhone works with that. Guess I want to know will it work and what do I need to do. Thanks in advance
