iCam Support / Line of Sight

Is line of sight to the router a big issue?
The reason I ask is that in a normal stud and gyproc constructed house, wireless cams located in diff rooms and basement cannot have a clear sight line to the router.
Is the connectivity strength of most wi fi systems adequate to receive the signal from the wireless cam(s)?

I must have missed an important email, thread or other instructions along the way.
How do I add a second cam (eg Foscam 890W) to view remotely?
Can someone clue me in?
