iCam Pro Support / How can I get audio working with Amcrest IP camera?
« on: January 14, 2017, 01:51:51 PM »
So I have figured out how to access the MJPEG video stream from my Amcrest IP2M-841 1080p IP camera (I used http://192.168.1.137/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?subtype=1 as the URL in iCam and have the video sub stream enabled on the camera using MJPEG encoding) I can not figure out how to access the audio stream.  I have both the main and sub audio streams enabled using AAC encoding but when I configure the icamsource URL to http://192.168.1.137/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?channel=1&subtype=1 I get neither video or audio.  Does icamsource pro support audio from this type of IP camera?

Note, I have a similar issue with a D-Link DCS-932 IP camera that I am also using with icamsource pro.

Great, that is what I was hoping for.

Does the Amcrest camera require I install a brower plugin in order to configure it?  I am very leery about doing something like that for at least two reasons (security, reliability).  I'm hoping I can just connect using a web browser and set the thing up as I have been able to do with other IP cameras.

Thanks for the Amcrest pointer, that looks like it will work for me.

iCam Pro Support / Re: H264 support being worked on?
« on: January 06, 2017, 01:47:49 PM »
I hope y'all add H.264 support soon because I'm having trouble finding a decent WiFi video camera that supports mjpeg.  If you have any suggestions for such a video camera that supports pan/tilt (not foscam which I will never buy again) please let me know.

I had a Foscam mjpeg video camera die (I'm glad because it was not very good) and I'm looking for a replacement that will work with icam source pro.  So far I'm finding it difficult to find a good, reliable WiFi video camera that supports either mjpeg or jpeg video, at least when I look at the specs for the cameras I have found (all just mention H.264).  Note that I'd prefer to have a camera that supports a audio mic and pan and tilt.  Anyone have advice on currently made/supported WiFi video cameras that work with icam?

Isn't this considered a shortcoming by the developers?  If I'm not at home and my computer reboots I want iCamsource to start up at that point since I can not login nor am I likely to know that the system as rebooted.

8
You can manually configure your computer to launch iCamSource on startup by going to Systems Preferences -> Accounts (or Users & Groups) -> Login Items. More information about login items can be found here: http://www.macworld.com/article/2047747/take-control-of-startup-and-login-items.html

Don't I have to login for programs in the Login Items list to run?  I want the icamsource program to run when the system reboots, not when I login.

I would like icamsource to start up when my Mac Mini boots without my having to login.  Is there a way to do this?

iCam Support / Re: Linksys E3200 Router and Auto Config
« on: October 25, 2012, 08:24:25 AM »

This isn't a huge inconvenience as I've simply stopped using the "Auto config router" option and manually port forwarded ports 12000 to 12100 and everything is working properly again but I just wanted to bring it to your attention. Have a great day!

I have a Linksys 4200 and have had the same issue with iCamsource in that UPnP port forwarding isn't working.  I also have to set the port forwarding for iCam manually.  I run other apps that are able to use UPnP with my router to set up port forwarding so I'm thinking this is something that needs attention on iCamsource.

That's a good suggestion ... reCAPTCHA has now been added to iCamWeb. :)

Which makes iCamWeb almost useless to me as I often find it difficult to enter the "correct" text.  Y'all need to find another way to authenticate users of iCamWeb.   :-\

iCam Support / Re: Is Foscam FI8910W supported? (latest version)
« on: August 15, 2012, 02:54:21 PM »
I bought a F18910W recently and it works with iCamSource/iCam.  The only thing that isn't supported is two-way audio with iCam but SKJM supports says it's aware of this issue.

I would like the iCam iPhone app to support use of the Foscam FI8910W speaker so I could talk into my iPhone and have that transmitted out the Foscam speaker.  I'd also like the iCamSource app preference interface to support the Foscam's ability to pan and tilt (note, I'm aware that the iCam app can do pan/tilt although that feature could be easier to use (I find I have to swipe a bunch in order to pan the Foscam a little at a time.)).

iCam Support / Re: Having a number of connection issues with iCam

Your advice of manually configuring UDP port forwarding of 12000-12100 appears to have solved my intermittent connection problems when on a 3G cellular data network.  It is unfortunate that using UPnP with my router resulted in a setup that partially worked, just enough to confuse me.  It's also unfortunate that the router, a Linksys E4200, doesn't provide more diagnostic ability like being able to see exactly what ports are being forwarded via UPnP.

Yes, I have UPnP enabled on the router.  As I said before, I am able to connect to my web cam with the iCam Iphone app and the web browser/java viewer when on WiFi networks outside my house.  Given this UPnP must be working in regards to the port forwarding, yes?
