IP Cam Config Support / IP-CAMERA-ID002A

Hi

Please can someone tell me how the Motion Detection work.

At the moment I have this ticked and selected in red the times I would like the Motion Detection to start and stop rather than on 24/7. Basically I want this to start detecting whilst no one is in at home, not whilst we're in.

I have configured this to work via ftp to my Raspberry PI device so that the Raspberry PI can send all the images to my Dropbox, works superbly without the need for iCam Source software. I can also control the camera via my iPhone, iPad and computer (work).

Although it would be excellent if the set times actually works for Motion Detection. Is this a bug?? Otherwise I see no point having those weekdays and times if it's not going to work.

Please help me!!

Being a novice here. What FTP settings will I need to send motion images to say something like my Dropbox account?

Any help appreciated.

Hi

Couldn't see anything obvious regarding Linux on here (apart from really old posts saying there's no support for it but maybe soon), I was wondering if the IP Cam would work with Raspberry PI device at all?

It seems like an excellent idea to use the cam with than having a laptop or desktop powered on at all times at home when this device is powered by USB (and also it's own power plug).

Any suggestions on the Linux front for the IP Cam guys?

So if I wish to view the camera using either the iPhone or iPad out of the house, I would still need the computer on for this feature to work!?!?

Ok, I'm a little frustrated. I came across the iCam app for iPad and iPhone and thought this looks handy to have a bit of security around the house. So I bought the app on the iPad and then bought a wireless IP Cam from eBay. I have it working but only with IP cam URL from a laptop. I cannot get this to work with/through iCam Source options. However I've followed the instructions regarding Port Forwarding etc on my Virgin Media Netgear wireless router. It does state that the UDP Port 12000 is blocked, how do I get this to unblock and is this why I'm having problems getting the iCam Source to work?

Also, once setup, do I need a computer running at all times if I only wanted to view via iPhone and or iPad?

Any help appreciated please, thank you.
