iCam Support / Sound triggered notification, new feature request
« on: October 11, 2011, 03:27:33 AM »
I would very much like a sound level trigger for sending a notification/record event. When my dog barks, I get a notification...

(I looked back in the list of topics and couldn't find any post about it recently, so I thought it's time to put it on the list again....
If others like the same thought, please tell the developers...)

iCam Support / Re: Four USB web cameras one computer prob
« on: May 17, 2011, 12:20:16 AM »
I have given up having several USB cameras on one computer, iCam, or the OSX, mixes them up so it won't work stable. I've tried four different MacMini and iMac's. Even bought USB'cams from different wendors to get different names on them on the USB bus. Works perfect with network cameras, but not more than one USB-cam. Can have one USB cam on each computer though, no problems getting several computers to use the same iCam-account.

By the way, an interesting feature would be noise-detection, as well as movement. I want to hear my dog barking...

iCam Support / Re: Problems with multiple cams
« on: March 30, 2011, 06:55:26 AM »
I think there is more to it. I have similar problems. Running two different cam's on USB on a MacMini 2GHz. Seems to have a connection with which sound source is selected, "none" is worse than "internal"... But it's still like random... Lot of irritation.
Problems start already when I don't get a preview of the different cameras, I can't see the image in the preferences pane, and sometimes I see the same image/camera though different cameras is set up in the settings.
I even tried to replace the mini with another newer one, same pattern of the problems.
Would be nice with some kind of "refresh button" so it is possible to feel that iCam really tries to connect to the camera. Or some kind of debug window.
Everything is very stable with one camera though... Probably will have to set up another mini for that  second cam...
