ipCam Support / Access from external IP address
« on: December 21, 2011, 07:07:52 PM »
OK.
I've got ipCam up and running on my old 3Gs connected with wifi to my router.
I've got an Airport express and turned on Port mapping with port TCP port 80 open.
In ipCam setup on the 3Gs, I've turned on automatic port forwarding.
I'm trying to access my 3Gs camera from my iPhone 4. What app do you recommend for viewing the ipCam from an iPhone? I downloaded iCamViewer and Netcamviewer on my iPhone 4. Niether are able to connect to the 3Gs running ipCam. I'm using the external IP address to try to access it.
I changed the port to 81 and updated my router mapping to turn on port 81 in case COX doesn't allow me to use port 80, because I read somewhere on here that some ISPs turn off that port so that people can't host their own network services.
Still, maybe I'm not configuring my router properly?
Anyone else have a similar setup and know what I need to do to access my 3Gs running ipCam connected to an airport express from an iPhone4?
Thanks,
Chris
