Here's a gif of this goofy behavior. This is with orientation lock enabled.

no update on this? I can post a video but here's what's happening:
Orientation lock disabled: App is launched, defaults to the old view, with home button on the right. Flip it around and the orientation flips, as expected. Orientation lock enabled: App is launched, defaults to old view for a half second, then automatically flips to opposite orientation. Home button is on the left. It's quite comical and I'm sure not intentional behavior or some default behavior in iOS. Let me know if you want the video. 4
iCam Pro Support / Orientation flipped since iOS 9« on: October 05, 2015, 07:17:03 AM »
Ever since iOS 9 came out, the orientation of iCam is flipped when the phone is in orientation lock mode. I mean, I used to have the home button on the right when in landscape mode, now the app is upside down and I need to hold the home button to the left. Is there a way to fix this?

iCam Pro Support / Option to choose video or photos« on: September 16, 2014, 01:39:20 PM »
I liked iCam because it was fast, and when it detected motion I would see what it was in the thumbnail even. Video seems slower and is not completely necessary for my setup. My camera's capture video themselves, and send it to my FTP server when motion is detected, so I can always go find that if something nefarious occurred.
I would like to see the option to simply use jpgs for events instead of videos. 6
iCam Pro Support / Re: Record length« on: September 16, 2014, 01:36:05 PM »
I would also like to see some control over video length, like say 5 seconds after motion last detected. Right now it seems random, anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute of extra footage.

iCam Support / Supported PoE Camera?« on: April 09, 2014, 01:01:41 PM »
Does anyone currently use a PoE (Power over Ethernet) camera with iCam? I'm looking for an outdoor PoE cam and most use h.264 which does not work with iCam.

iCam Support / Re: View Motion Events can be really slow« on: September 07, 2012, 10:34:51 AM »Maybe your hard drive has spun down to sleep (as per the System Preferences > Energy Saver setting) and the iCamSource has to wait for it to spin up again? Or perhaps they are being stored on a network drive that has either gone to sleep or needs to be re-mounted? It saves to a local disk which is never allowed to spin down, but you did point me in the right direction. I have the nine cam folders inside my Dropbox folder, so I can have a backup of the motion events in the case of the drive failing or any other disaster. Seems this constant syncing was causing iCam to drag when it was listing motion events. I removed all but three cameras from this Dropbox solution so I'll report back if this did not fix my issue. Thanks everyone. 9
iCam Support / Re: View Motion Events can be really slow« on: September 06, 2012, 01:33:09 PM »I've had this issue also. It's as if iCamSource has difficulty locating the events folders. Thanks, but this is Mac OS X Server 10.7.4. Probably should have mentioned that. 10
iCam Support / View Motion Events can be really slow« on: September 06, 2012, 09:22:04 AM »
This issue began a few months ago. When I tap View Motion Events I sometimes can view the events immediately and sometimes it can take a full minute to list them. If I get tired of waiting I tap "back" and then "view motion events" again and often times they show up immediately. Is there something on the server side I can check to see where the lag is occurring? By the way, there is no change in CPU utilization on the server when it's attempting to list the events. That was the first thing I checked.

IP Cam Config Support / Re: Scanning existing cameras?« on: January 11, 2012, 05:54:08 PM »
Okay gotcha, I was unclear of what the app did. Happy to support your efforts in the Mac App Store anyway.
None of my cameras have any Mac software, but I always get around that. 12
IP Cam Config Support / Re: Scanning existing cameras?« on: January 11, 2012, 10:48:51 AM »
Well, I know the Panasonic BL-C121A I have will not show up because they get hard wired to default to the 192 type networks (Lame), but my existing and new Linksys WVC54GCA and Linksys WVC80N do not show up. There are five of the WVC54GCA and one WVC80N.
10.0.11.x network, app running on 10.7.2. 13

Is this app supposed to show existing cams as well as new? It won't find either for me.

iCam Support / Re: iCam Saved the Day!« on: November 20, 2010, 02:13:19 PM »Does the camera that you mention - Linksys WVC54GCA - work on Macs or is this a Windows-only device? I've searched several forums, manufacturer links, etc., and cannot get a definitive answer although it appears to be Windows-only. For the most part, yes it works with Macs, and really any browser (I recommend Chrome). During initial setup, a PC is preferred but not completely necessary. You place the camera on your wired network, then check your routers DHCP table to determine which IP was assigned to it. Or you can just guess based on your other DHCP IPs, eventually you will find it. So for example, if your MacBook has an IP of 192.168.1.2, your Wii has an IP of 192.168.1.3, your iPhone 192.168.1.4, adding the camera will likely give it 192.168.1.5 assuming there are no other DHCP devices on your network. If you cannot load 192.168.1.5 in your browser, add +1 to the last number until you find it. It's much easier to check the DHCP table on your router, though. So after that, you configure the camera through your browser. Follow the instructions for setting up iCam and you're done. However, if you want to have the cameras also record video and email/ftp when they detect motion, you will need a PC for initial setup. Specifically you need Internet Explorer's ActiveX function to set the motion region. Even if you want the entire frame to be motion sensitive, you have to set it up at least once using IE. If you don't have access to a PC, try downloading the free VirtualBox and check the torrents for a copy of Windows XP. They are everywhere, or so I've heard. Try one out and post back here if you have any problems. 15
iCam Support / Re: iCam Saved the Day!« on: November 19, 2010, 03:56:41 PM »What brand/model cameras are you using? Mounted outdoors in appears? Mounted under eaves? Approximate cost of cameras? I gutted my house and am remodeling it...would love to incorporate some cameras like you have. Excellent video quality! Thanks. PM me if you don't want to share the info for all to see. I use nine cams total - Linksys WVC54GCA, mounted indoors and outdoors (under patio). I paid only about $50-$60 each on eBay, always used or refurb. Have had pretty good luck with them and they work in freezing temps to 100° temps no problem with all levels of humidity. Someday I'd like some higher res cams, but those are around $150 and up. Maybe I'll put one hi-res cam up front and leave the rest alone. Oh, and when I built this house I added some power receptacles up high in the hallway & living room specifically for this purpose.
