I have one USB camera plugged directly into computer and one USB camera on a small hub which only has the Bluetooth receiver to a wireless mouse and keyboard connected. I will try connecting the camera directly to the USB port, to see if that makes any difference. I think I tried this before and it did not make any difference.
In the meantime, I tried going back to using Icam source v2.7 and that is working just fine on Windows 10.
I see there is a new version of Icam Pro 1.2 now. I had just updated to 1.1. So I will try that later.
I actually liked the old version's way of saving individual jpg's images rather than a video in Pro, but the Pro version does have some sweet bells and whistles.
I am now running the latest Icam Pro 1.1 version. I was using 1.03. It still crashes after about 20-30 minutes and I have attached the screenshot of the message. (or not) Windows laptop is an Asus with Intel core i3 2.4 Ghz with 8MB of RAM, 64 bit, running Windows 10. I am using the built in webcam on the laptop and a Logitech C310 and a Logitech C615 USB webcam. I have the same cameras and laptop running Windows 7 and no problems there. It was only after I upgraded one laptop to Win10 did this crashing start. I did, install the MS Media pack you guys recommend as well. I can't seem to add my screenshot. Let me send this out and try again.
The error message I get when it crashes says "IcamSourcePro.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will notify the program and notify you if a solution is available" then there is a "close program" button to hit to close the window.
Since I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, Icam pro will not stay open but constantly crashes. I know it has to be Win 10 because I have the exact same laptop with Windows 7 running 2 cameras (just like the other laptop) and it still works fine, but Icam pro crashes on the Win 10 laptop after 20 or so minutes but I haven't really kept track, so not sure how long it stays on. It only stays on a short time before it says the program is not responding. I am only using the laptops for webcams to Icam, so it should not be any other program.
My setup: 1) iMacG5 (2005) with OS 10.5.8, 1.9 Ghz PowerPC, 2.5GB RAM - connected to Logitech C615 camera and built in iSight camera. 2) MBP 13" (2009) with OS 10.6.8, 2.26 Ghz Intel core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM - - connected to Logitech C615 camera and also using iSight camera. 3) (Windows) Dell Latitude D600 laptop (2004?) WinXP Pro 5.1 SP3, 1.3Ghz Intel Pentium M, 1.5GB RAM - - connected to Logitech C310 camera. Using Wi-fi to connect to my home wi-fi internet connection. All with latest iCamsource software.
Ipad 1 with IOS 5 iPhone 4 with IOS 5 All with iCam 2.4 software.
I use no audio source on any cameras. ATT Uverse internet service -------------------------------------
I have some issues with my iMac and Logitech camera not connecting to the server. All other computers/camera setups working OK.
Before I upgraded to the new iCamSource 2.4, software, I was having some issues with the iCamSource turning off on me during the day. I thought it might be a USB power issue with the camera. So I turned off all running programs, bluetooth, Airport, etc. and that seemed to work. But not 100%, maybe 90% of the time.
Now though, the camera signal is not connecting to server, and I know iCamSource is running on computer, as I can see, via Logmein, that it is running and working and can even see the images. It just seems to not be connecting to the server. I just keep getting the "Server Connection Error. One or more of the iCamSources returned by the iCam Broker Server could not be connected to." When I switch iMac camera source to the built in iSight camera, signal comes through OK. But it does seem to take a long time for picture to render on iPad. Sometimes its blank, then when I refresh, it comes up. Sometime it doesn't connect. When I switch back to the Logitech camera, it never connects to server, though I am seeing iCamSource running on the computer (via Logmein). Motion detection is set to less often (for lower CPU usage).
When I try to run both the iSight cam and the Logitech Cam on the iMac, it will crash one of the iCamSources after a few minutes, seems to always be the Logitech Cam.So I don't do that anymore. CPU usage is only about 14% according to Activity Monitor with either camera.(with sound off)
I will try some different camera/computer setups to utilize the newer computers better USB power and overall newer CPU/software.
Now I am not getting any picture on iCam from my iMac ICamSource though I see it running on the iMac computer.
(keep up the great work guys, this is one of the best Apps ever. I did donate to your server fund as I would love to keep using this App and will encourage all to do the same!)
At work, I am using a 2007 Mac Book Pro 15" with 4GB RAM and a (1 year old) 240 SSD with the built in iSight camera, I have noticed my CPU usage also decreased by almost half, went from 33-43% down to about 14%!
I wonder if this may be the reason I am losing my camera connection feeds on my home computers.
At home I have an old (2006?) iMac G5 1.9Ghz with 2.5 GB RAM and have tried to use both the iSight camera and a Logitech C615 USB camera. I can get them both up and running, but sooner or later, one will drop out, and after a period of time, the second iCamsource pref window will close and the icon will disappear in my top menu bar. I know I pushing the iMac with these video feeds, but its a damn good old computer that just won't die! (the last G5's before Apple went to Intel). But I have audio enabled for both cameras, so will have to try without audio to see what happens.
At home also, I also have a 2009 13" Mac Book Pro with 8GB RAM and am having the same problem, camera will drop out and stop connecting. I have ATT Uverse internet service with their second highest internet speed (Max or whatever). Wondering if I am exceeding my bandwidth or something when I try to have all 4 camera feeds (2 on iMac and 2 on MBP; both using iSight camera and one Logitech C615 USB camera). I have my motion set to less sensitive and motion detection to less often, to reduce CPU usage. I will have to try turning the audio off and see if that makes a difference.
I'm still reading through a lot of the forums here and picking up some good tips and help. Would love to get my two home computers (or at least one) to be able to run all four cameras (or 3 with on computer, using iSight as one cam). I was able to get them all (2 computers each with 2 cams) up at once, but they quickly lost connections, except for
BTW, great product and great support here! You guys are doing a great job.
