iCam Support / Re: Not receiving Push Notifications
« on: July 24, 2009, 12:24:57 PM »
Ok, I got email support suggesting I update to the newest version of icamsource, which I did but it did not fix my push issue. I then uninstalled and reinstalled everything and was charged another .99c for the push notification. To be clear, I have purchased Icam already and now Icam push has been billed to me twice.

I would like someone from this company to just refund the 2x.99c push add-ons and I will just use the application without it. I dont have weeks worth of back and forth to deal with this. Please email me for charge information. Thanks.

The accounts did not change. But the push notifications become disabled automatically. I'm not sure what to do here.

Here's what it says

"Please Note : Sending Push Notifications on Motion Detection has been turned off as there is currently no "Push on Motion" iCam associated with this account."

The Send Push Notifications checkbox is enabled when you connect to the iCamSource with iCam after purchasing the Push on Motion upgrade.

You are currently only able to accept Push Notifications from one account at a time, so if you change your account either on iCam or the iCamSource the iCamSource checkbox will be unchecked if there are no iCam iPhones or iPod touches registered with our server to receive notifications for that account. (This is merely a way to prevent push notification traffic from being sent to our server when there is no iCam to send it to.)

If you have any further questions or issues, please let me know.

Thanks. :)

I purchased the push upgrade but I noticed in the application on my PC it is still greyed out and I cant select it. Is this a temporary issue as I'm also getting the "broker" server error.

Update: I can now select the push setting in the application but it then reverts to disabled as it says it doesnt have an associated account. weird.

Thanks.

iCam Support / Re: Camera LED and IP Camera setup information.

Yes, I want to turn the light off. That would be a great feature. Thank you for the IP camera info.

Are you talking about turning the light off on an IP camera or a USB camera?  I don't think that's something you can do programatically with a USB camera.  I know at least some IP camera models have that ability.  Currently, our IP camera video support is still in a testing phase.  Once it's stabilized, we'll be looking into other IP camera features, such as disabling the LED.

For an IP camera, you need to select the "Ethernet / Wi-Fi" tab in iCamSource.  If you do that, there will be a place to enter the MJPEG URL for your camera.  If you don't know the MJPEG URL for your camera, click the Help button close to the URL field.  It will take you to a webpage that will help you determine the correct URL for your camera.  If your camera's manufacturer is not on that page, please send an email to support@skjm.com, and we'll try to find the right MJPEG URL for you.

iCam Support / Camera LED and IP Camera setup information.

The first question is more of a suggestion.

1. Can you add an option in your PC software to disable the camera LED? Most applications that are security related and use the camera will allow you to disable the LED that basically tells the world your broadcasting.

2. I have a wireless IP Camera. I want to add it to the camera list. Can I do this by IP address ? Do I have to add it in the application? I really wish there was a better documentation on that.

Thanks !
