Title: icam source 2.1.1 problem
Post by: sung79hoon on September 15, 2010, 05:03:49 PM
Before I updated icam source, everything was fine. After I updated icam source to 2.1.1, whenever I log in, my iphone says 'no source found'! The weirdest part is that if I creates a 2 letters long password, it works!! If I creates a more than 2 letters long password, it doesn't work. 2.1.1 version has a problem with password.

Are you guys seeing this on Mac or Windows?

I know sung79hoon is seeing it on Windows, but what about the rest of you?

Have you rebooted your iphone since installing the newer version of icam?

I had problems with icam on my iPad, but after rebooting the iPad, everything worked great.

I rebooted my iphone but the problem still remains. It's strange.

Running fine with iCamSource 2.1.1.

I've found that when I play around with my webcam setup on the Windows PC, I sometimes have to re-enter the password in iCamSource and then in the iPhone/iPad and this does the trick.  This has been the same with previous versions of iCamSource too - not a drama once you know what is going on.

Once I upgraded the icam source software on my desktop and rebooted I get the No Sources Found - there are currently no running iCamSources associated with your existing login and password. Worked without issue prior to the upgrade. I will try changing the login and password since it seems to have worked for some others, is there thoughts for a fix for this since it seems to be a fairly wide spread concern.
Thanks

Have you tried entering the password again in iCamSource, then entering it again in iCam?

Works fine for me when I do this - on both the iPhone and iPad

Yes, I've done that yesterday. But maybe they have done some changes today?

I'll give it a try...

Does not work. Tried it on both iPhone&iPad and also restarted iCam on server.

Just comes with: "No Sources Found" "There are currently no running iCamSources associated with your existing login and password"

But if I use a password which is only 2 letters long... It works.

Please fix it ASAP

This new version uses the registry more than the last version, so it's possible that the registry key has somehow gotten into a bad state.

Please download and run (double-click) this file: http://skjm.com/icam/CleaniCamKey.reg

That will erase the current iCamSource settings in your registry.  You will need to re-enter all of your settings, but hopefully the problem will be resolved if it's due to a problem in the registry.

I downloaded the file: CleaniCamKey
I re-entered all of my settings but I stll have the same problem. Please fix this. 2 letters long password is too short. It's not safe.

I ran the registry edit and restarted the program, did have to re-enter my settings but it seems to be working correctly now. will keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the quick turnaround :)

sung79hoon - The registry cleaning does seem to be working for other users. Both the iCam Login and Password are case-sensitive, so be sure that the cases match on both iCam and the iCamSource.

Are you completely closing the iCamSource before running the registry cleaner? If the iCamSource is still open you may experience unexpected results.

Well... After resetting password and trying with different usr/pwd, I finally got it working, but there seem to be a problem with the passwords. I think it has to do with the length of the passwords used....

Oh well... I'm in :)

Could you please make an option for 24H clock for us in europe as we do not use AM/PM....

Thanks,
Dolfren
