I am having trouble installing and using the Win8 version of the software on my new machine. The software will install and when I open the software the icon shows in the message tray until I mouse over it and then it disappears. Any assistance on what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

iCamSource for Windows 8 requires the .NET 3.5 version (even if you have .NET 4.0 installed) available here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21)

Make sure that Windows is fully updated through Windows Update.
Also, please run two prerequisites that must be installed in order for iCamSource to run properly, the Visual Studio Redistributable Package(vcredist_x86.exe) and the .Net framework.
Visual C++ Redistributable Package: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en)
.NET Framework: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992)

Computer is updated and ran both programs and still the same. Removed and reinstalled the Icam source program a few times. ???
it works on the Apple computer no problem.

It's possible that the registry key has somehow gotten into a bad state.
Please download and run (double-click) this file: http://skjm.com/icam/CleaniCamKey.reg (http://skjm.com/icam/CleaniCamKey.reg)
That will erase the current iCamSource settings in your registry. You will need to re-enter all of your settings, but hopefully the problem will be resolved if it's due to a problem in the registry.
If you would like a refund, unfortunately, developers are not given the ability to issue refunds for App Store purchases, since we do not have any credit card information (or any other information) about the people that purchase the app.
The email receipt you received from Apple when you purchased the app should have a "Report a Concern" link that you can use to contact Apple. That is the only way we know of to get a refund for apps.
