Title: I got my built in cameras set up, but...
Post by: Ryan Ranells on June 28, 2009, 05:02:06 PM
Hello,

First of all I'd like to say iCam is a great app. But I'm horrible with webcams and need some help. So I got my iMac and Macbook Pro webcams set up, but I'm interested in how to get a remote webcam to monitor the outside of my house. I have a dlink router and wireless internet and Ill be hooking it up to my iMac. All I need to know is what to buy and how to set it up.

Thanks for your help  :)

P.S. sorry I'm stupid  ???

Thanks for your positive feedback. :)

The current BETA version of the iCamSource allows you to connect to MJPEG-compatible IP webcams. We have first-hand experience using the AirLink101 SkyIPCam500W (http://www.airlink101.com/products/aicn500w.php) and Linksys WVC54GCA Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera (http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WVC54GCA) which the iCamSource both supports.

To connect a network camera to the iCamSource, simply choose the "Ethernet / Wi-Fi" tab, find the MJPEG or JPEG URL for your camera (http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg.php), enter the camera's login and password, and you should be good to go.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to let us know.

Thanks so much for the help :). One more question though. Do these support wifi connections?
