Are you seeing this error as soon as the iCamSource starts, or when you double-click or right-click on the iCamSource icon in the systray and choose Preferences? If is when you are clicking the systray icon, this is a known bug that will be fixed in the upcoming BETA. The work-around is to not click the icon in the systray until you have clicked the Start button on the iCamSource Preferences window.

If it is crashing as soon as you launch the program, then you can try installing the following two pre-requisites, reboot, and see if that helps:

Visual C++ Redistributable Package: http://skjm.com/icam/vcredist_x86.exe
.NET Framework: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

Hi there!

I had a very similar experience on my XP machine:

I downloaded Windows XP iCamSource, then it keeps on crashing when I click the icon

My Microsoft error message looked like:
EventType : clr20r3     P1 : icamsource.exe     P2 : 0.0.0.0     P3 : 4a8480d7
P4 : system.windows.forms     P5 : 2.0.0.0     P6 : 4889dee7     P7 : 2328
P8 : 5d     P9 : system.argumentoutofrange

I followed both links and installed both products (Visual C++ Redistributable Package and .NET Framework), but it still crashes when I try to open the application.

I really want to get this app working, so would appreciate someone's help. :)

Cheers
Martyn

Did the .NET and vcredist installers run and finish successfully?  Every time we've seen that error in the past, a .NET update resolved the problem.  Have you rebooted the computer since you updated .NET?

Yes - .net 3.5 appears to be installed correctly.

To be sure, I used the .net cleanup application (removed all .net framework versions), then reinstalled the latest .net v3.5, rebooted and iCam still produces a similar error message:

EventType : clr20r3     P1 : icamsource.exe     P2 : 0.0.0.0     P3 : 4a8480d7
P4 : system.windows.forms     P5 : 2.0.0.0     P6 : 471ebf68     P7 : 232f
P8 : 5d     P9 : system.argumentoutofrange

I'm curious as to why iCam started working when I first installed it, then stopped a few days later. I can't pin-point any events that would have caused it....

Just tried to reinstall new iCamSetup1.3.6.exe and it didn't make a difference. I still can't open the application.  :(

What is the Brand/Model of the camera you are using with iCamSource?  If it is a USB or built-in camera, please update the webcam drivers to the latest version.

Are there any other video capture programs running, such as Skype?  They might be fighting with iCamSource over access to the camera.  Please quit any video capture programs and then relaunch iCamSource to see if it starts working.

The webcam is a Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 (USB) with the latest drivers. It seems like it was the Logitech software. I switched it off and all seems to be okay now. A lot of mucking around to get it working...
