iCam Support / Request for option on iPad app

Hi,

With the iPad2, the orientation of the screen is always upside down (for me at least). Would it be possible to have a choice on the setup options so that I don't have to shake and wait for the screen to re-orientate.

I know it is a minor thing, but I'd appreciate it!

iCam Support / Location of iCamSource configuration file

Hi,

I've done something stupid; just deleted the cameras from iCamSource. I could recover the file with Time Machine, if only I knew which one it is!

I'm using a Mac btw.

Thanks for the suggestions. The two IP addresses for the two iCamSources are:

Local: 90.193.202.251
Remote: 88.17.100.227

I've also tried removing all but one camera on both iCamSources, but I still only get the local image - although iCamweb finds both (as usual!)

OK, I have tried with both on and off for both sources.

On the remote iCamSource, i get: UPnP Dual NAT Ext_ip 192.168.1.196
On the local one I get: NAT -PMP 3,-7,61 - switching that on stops any pictures coming through! (same with the remote I think too)

Is there a way of deleting the preferences file? I suspect that MobileMe sync has overwritten one of the preferences files between the two machines - hence the reason I seem to get sometimes the images from the second iCamSource...

Also it is odd that iCamWeb seems to get both iCamSources OK without any problem on my mac connected on the same router as the iPad. Do you know why this is?

PS: and while I'm at it, could we have a future option to choose the orientation of the screen - I always prefer the screen the other way up! :)

Hi,

I have two Macs at two locations - one with 4 IP Cams connected, and one with 7, (both connected with the same login/password) and while I get to see all 11 cameras through iCamweb reliably, trying to access the cameras through the iPad app is intermittent - with the screen splitting to 16 blocks (which is correct) but only occasionally one or two of the pictures from one source being available, but more often, the "One or More..." message coming up.

Both iCamSource apps on the macs show they are connected to the server. The iPad is on the same network as the mac I'm using to check iCamWeb. Changing the user name on both sets of cameras doesn't seem to make any difference.

Closing the local iCamSource makes two of the remote cams from the other iCamSource turn up! I'm using version 2.2.2.1.

Do you guys have any idea?

Thanks - I've asked the ISP to open these ports for me. I think the issue is at his end.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying - but it seems now by switching the auto-config off, and trying a few times, I get connected. I've ensured the firewall allows for incoming connections - although in trying to view the images on my iPad away from the same network, I get my home machine, but not this one from my other house (the error message is "one or more of the icamsources returned by the icam broker server could not be connected to).  I guess what would be useful would be to know which ports are needed to be open by my ISP as it looks like the problem is between the icamsource and the ISP not letting the port be open.

Yes - tried that. No result there either

Weird thing I didn't mention was that when I installed the software, it picked up the configuration of the cameras I have on my Mac Pro in another house. I didn't delete them, just added the cameras onto the list.

Hi,

Can't see what the problem is - when turning on, the screen shows 'connecting....' and nothing else although setting auto-config router gives an error: ERROR : UPnP 3 : NAT-PMP 3,-7,61. The cameras are coming up in the window, so the local config is OK - just can't access it externally from the network. Any help appreciated!
