This past month we have received a handful of reports from long-time iCam users who are suddenly having problems connecting via AT&T's 3G network. In troubleshooting one user's issue, we discovered that my iPhone was able to connect via AT&T 3G to their iCamSource, but Jay's was not.

Well here is an interesting thing. I live in Australia and use Icam on my iMac at home with 5 cameras. Hubby and I are on the Telstra 3G network for iPhones and iPads and icam app works perfectly both on wifi and 3G.

We have come to the USA and Canada for holidays and thought that having icam would be great. Whilst on wifi at hotels, RV parks etc icam works just like home. When our iPhones were roaming via AT&T in the USA it worked fine. BUT since we are spending 4 weeks in Canada we decided to get Rogers wireless sims for our iPhones and iPads. Guess what NO icam access at all!!! We get the notifications If it detects movement etc, but can't see the camera via the app at all. Minute we put our Australian Telstra sim in all is ok!!

So looks like Rogers is blocking the app too!!

Thank goodness l live down under   ;D

Cheers and thanks for the BEST APP!!!

Beta Testing / Re: iCamSource 2.0 BETA
« on: September 12, 2010, 07:35:06 PM »
Was having same issues as Dean (and others) (iCamSource 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 on new macmini w/snow leopard, iCam 2.0 beta on iPhone 4 4.0.1, 2 cameras: isight and Lifecam HD-5001) Can confirm that trashing old prefs file (user/Library/Preferences/com.skjm.icamsource.plist)  has made it all good so far. (Thanks, Dean)

I also get the squish on the HD-5001 (16:9 camera) Maybe just a "letter boxing" option for each camera would help?

Great work, guys!

I have 6 Cameras at 2 locations (4 on an iMac & 2 on Windows PC) all working beautifully on iCam Source 2.0 & 2.03 BETA!! Problem is that on iCam l can only see 4 cameras at a time on either my iPhone or iPad. I see in your message you are running iCam 2.0 Beta. Where do we get that from and how can l install it on my iPad/iPhone via iTunes?

Cheers
Sue

iCam Support / Motion Detection Events
« on: April 08, 2010, 11:22:21 PM »
Since the new upgrade version l am finding that l am not getting as many snaps per event. For example, if a car goes past my window, where l used to get 3 or 4 "snaps" as it passed by l am now only getting 1 or 2. Is there a way of getting the app to take more "snap" per second or what would have changed. I have 3 dlink wifi cameras, and 1 x iSight and its happening with all 4 devices.

Aside from that, l love this app and now especially love the DELETE ALL events....!

iCam Support / Multiple Camera Sites
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:58:44 PM »
I recently purchased and installed iCam 1.3 and just LOVE it.
My question though is l have 4 cameras at home and 3 at the office.

Was going to set up 2 different "users" so that one looks at home cameras and the other looks at work. Problem is i would get push notifications if l am not logged on.
Does anyone know if its possible to install the app twice on my iphone so that l can have one installation for the office login and one for the home...or any other suggestions.

Cheers
Sue

iCam Support / Re: Feature Request - Time-based push?
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:55:45 PM »

The only thing I would add is the ability to optionally send a push iphone badge alert based on day and time.

For example, I only want to receive alerts when I'm not home, which is usually 9a - 5p Monday - Friday.

I'd vote for the same functionality and it could reside on the iphone or the computer - either way is fine.

I second this request...!!!

iCam Support / Motion is not being detected
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:53:36 PM »
Hi. Just purchased and installed iCam 1.3 and its working ALMOST perfectly. I have 4 camera, my iMacs inbuilt camera and a D-Link 5300g which both detect any motion and push notify my iPhone. However l have to D-Link 6620g cameras and whilst l can see the video l am not getting any motion detection. When l go into the Motion Events screen l am lucky to even get the green motion light to come on.
Any suggestions...???
I really think this is a great app.
Cheers
Sue
