iCam Support / USB Camera hangs
« on: December 15, 2010, 07:36:41 PM »
Hi

I'm running iCamSource 2.1.6 with both a wi-fi cam and a USB cam on a PC. The wi-fi cam seems very stable however the USB hangs at least daily. As soon as I open iCamSource preferences and click on the USB cam, the camera generally unfreezes however at times I have to exit iCamSource and reload. The PC has a screen saver and is always powered. Any suggestions please?

Regards

iCam Support / Re: Restart iCam after power failure

Thanks Jay. The instructions are spread over several posts and I'm not sure which command lines to use. Is it possible to restate the command line so that I can follow it from one single post. Thank you.

iCam Support / Restart iCam after power failure

I have changed the settings on my PC so that it now automatically restarts after a power failure. Do you have a set of instructions to make iCamsource restart automatically as well? I have 2 instances of iCamsource running on the PC; a USB camera and an IP wireless camera.

Thank you

iCam Support / Active movie window
« on: October 04, 2009, 06:54:10 PM »
I have iCamsource always running on my computer, with the icon minimised in the tool bar. Whenever I activate the computer from screen saver mode, there is an image on the screen of what the camera is capturing with an Active Movie Window tab in the tool bar. I have to open iCamsource preferences and then minimise it again to close the Active Movie Window. Is this normal?

iCam Support / ISP problem (I think)
« on: September 10, 2009, 10:24:00 PM »
I emailed regarding a problem which I encountered with one of my iCamSources and thought I'd raise this again in the forum in case someone else has the same problem. I have a USB camera set up at my office and all was working perfectly until one day when I could only access the iCamSource on a WiFi network, not 3G. I wasn't aware of any changes to my office network but it transpired that we had changed ISP. We now have 2 ISPs each through their own Cisco Systems enterprise type routers which I have been advised are configured in exactly the same way. On one router, I am able to access the iCamSource on WiFi and 3G yet on the other, I can only access through WiFi. I understand that fiddling around with these routers is difficult and the GUI is very unfriendly. Is there a work around that I could explore?

What an excellent app to complement the iCam app. Tried to leave feedback on the iPhone but was unable. Will try again later.

Just my 2 cents worth. I had so many problems with this model Linksys camera that I ended up exchanging it for a D-Link and got it working over my wi-fi network without too much difficulty. I have a Netgear router and there seemed no way that the Linksys and the Netgear were ever going to 'talk' to each other. Hope you have better luck than me.

I'm sure that the iCam folk will respond but if you go to http://skjm.com/icam/web/ and login with your details, presto, there it is.

iCam Support / Source Connection Error
« on: August 07, 2009, 07:11:09 AM »
iCam runs for up to a few hours at a time and then I receive the source connection error. I am using v1.3.2 with port forwarding. To get iCam running again, I stop the iCam source and start it again but if I am away and can't access the computer, this makes reconnecting impossible. Is there anything I can do to stabilise the connection?

iCam Support / Date & Time stamp

How do you get the date and time to show up on the iCam on the iPhone?

I want to say thank you for the patience in helping me sort through my problem. Since updating the iPhone, I was able to access iCam through wi-fi but not 3G. Stefan walked me through the port forwarding process and all works fine now. This is fantastic support for a $5 product. Well done and thank you. I have spread the word about iCam and everyone I have shown is impressed and has immediately bought it. No, I have no association with iCam. Keep up the good work!!
