added feature request
« on: July 23, 2012, 07:40:35 PM »
I searched back 2 years ago or so and have seen several requests for a louder or different NOTIFICATION sound. Is there a reason why this has not been added? The stock notification sound is a way too tame little bleep. For something as important as a intruder in your house I would be pissed if I missed it completely because that little sound didnt wake me up or I could not hear it in a noisy room.
Will the feature to use your phones notification sound or choose another one ever be added??

Thanks....
BTW.... Love icam, thank you guys for putting this app out and all the hard work improving it ;D

We have had requests for a different notification sound, but it has not been one of the most-requested features.

If we were to add a new notification sound to iCam we couldn't really make it louder since the loudness of sounds played back is dictated by the device's current volume setting.

We are definitely open to user suggestions for what a better notification sound might be, however.

On my phone (Nexus) I have several stock notifications some are short quieter sounds like yours is and some are much louder and or longer.
You defiantly can give us a louder/longer notification sound, but why not let us use our default phone notification??
My default sound now for notifications is VERY loud and at least twice as long as icam. icam notification is not nearly as loud on the same volume setting.

I will add the option to use the device's default notification sound to our list of potential features to implement in the future.
