iCam Support / Re: iCam Source crashing iMac
« on: December 31, 2013, 11:54:49 AM »
I'm running 2 cameras.   A foscam F9821W with latest firmware, and a Chinese copy of a foscam 8905.   I should say everything worked fine for months,  it may have started around the time of updating to Mavericks,  can't be sure though.

The CPU averages 20% when iCam source is running.

Just a side note,  I use two user accounts on my Mac.  When the other user account is logged in (the one without iCam source installed) it seems to have the problem with the computer restarting.

No PTZ will not work as well it wont be 720P.

From what I can find LiveCamsPro app is what will support this camera with PTZ and 720p.

For anyone trying to get Foscam FI9821W to work with iCam.  These are the steps to take:

(1)Follow the instructions on this link to put one of the streams into MJPEG mode.   This needs to be done because the factory default has both streams in h.264 mode, which will not work with iCam.

http://foscam.us/forum/how-to-get-jpg-pictures-and-mj-stream-on-fi9821w-fi9801-02w-t4328.html

(2)Then use this command:  http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=admin&pwd=xxx

With ip address:port changed to yours and xxx being your camera's login password.

This command goes in the URL space in iCam Source.  Leave the Camera login and password both empty.

Hit start and your FI9821 camera should show up.

I can't find any info on support for Foscam Fi9821W H.264 cameras.   I know previous posts have said there is no support for H.264 cameras,  has this changed yet?
