iCam Support / Re: Using Iphone as Icamsource - Is this possible?

qik for the iphone kinds of do that, by that, I mean broadcast live what your iphone is seeing thru the camera and you can watch instantly on any web browser.
You just need to tie those 2 technologies together.

Also, being able to remote wake a camera or schedule time for on-off on the computer based software.
Using just "one" application to control up to 4 cameras, instead of having to copy 4 of the same applications to have the cameras...
Flip thru cameras, like you do on pictures
Without connecting the iphone to a computer and using it as a web cam, what about having an iphone, while on a 3g network or wifi hot spot, broadcast live video to another (or maybe the same) iphone?
Record up to 3-5 pictures and save it to the photo library on the iphone once movement is detected. (by the time I get the movement warning and open the phone, they are gone!)
I really love this app!
good job!

iCam Support / problems with a camera set up outside the home network?
« on: September 21, 2009, 07:34:21 AM »
I have 3 cams set up on my home network and they are working fine... now, I have a USB camera set up with one of my workstation at work (remote location)
I plugged the USB camera opened my Icam Source application, hit "start" and you can see it on the preview panel but it doesn't broadcast to my iphone... The workstation has internet at all time but I don't know if a firewall would be a problem (don't think so since its uploading)
thanks again!

it's kind of working now. Now I'm having problems with time machine.....  :-\

no error. The camera keeps displaying the last frame it got. (this is for the wifi camera only as the others are ok) The problem I have is that I can check movement on the other wired cameras (a fan is going on and you can see part of the street on the other camera) the wifi camera is pointing at the front door, so there's no way to know if it's video or stuck in there....

well, it seems to loose the connection after  a while, even that even with my small knowledge, I assigned a static IP (maybe I did this wrong).
I just want icam to broadcast the signal.... do I have to open ports on my router/airport extreme?
thanks

I don't know what I did but it's working now.... it took a lot of guessing since the installer doesn't work on the mac.
it's all good now.

I can't even get the camera to become wireless. I don't know if I have to open a port on my router, I do know the ip address of the camera (10.0.1.11) but that's where I'm stuck.

And use it thru my wifi network? I'm having a hell of a problem here!
Thanks in advance!

nope, same behavior on different applications... now the problem I'm having is icam disconnecting the camera or dropping the connection. It ran fine for a long while but since yesterday, the connection is dropped daily (like around 9:00 AM), any help?

Hey Jay!
Thanks for all your help... anyway. How do I show two cameras on photobooth?
I tried photo booth to show one camera and icam source to show another and got the same problem. If I pick the same cameras, everything is fine. if I pick different cameras one freezes while the other broadcast. really annoying. I don't have a powered USB hub but I can buy one, try and if it doesn't work, return it. Anybody with this problem that have found a solution?
thanks again!

I'm running a Mac Mini....
So, does a powered USB hub would help with this problem or I'm SOL?
Thanks!

both instances were downloaded separately and today, so they are the latest versions... also, I can switch cameras by stoping one and starting the other one and they work fine (the different cameras) but only one at the time, never both.
Very weird. I'm worry now about adding a 4th one (and being wifi!)
