: What defines the motion capture rate? The camera, connection or icamsource?
: Derrick May 12, 2013, 06:26:38 PM
Hi,
I have been using icamsource for a couple years for monitoring my front porch. I am running a foscam FI8918W camera via wifi to my iMac running mountain lion.

The images that are captured and displayed on iCAM seem to be captured at about 1fps. Is it possible to capture full motion video or at least 15fps for the motion capture? Is this a function of the camera or icamsource?

Thanks,
Derrick

Video record has been requested in the past and is currently on our list of potential features to implement in the future.

If you require a video file of a motion recording, there are many video authoring programs available to create video files from a set of JPEG images.

On Mac computers, you can use the iMovie application. A forum user posted instructions for creating videos using iMovie here: http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=641.0 (http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=641.0)

On Windows, you can use the Movie Maker application.  There are several tutorials available if you search Google for "movie maker import jpg tutorial"  Here are links to a couple of them:

The iCamSource performs the motion detection logic at most once every half-second, and the images where motion is detected are the ones that are saved.
