MJPEG & JPEG URL formats vary among different network webcam manufacturers and even among different webcam models from the same manufacturer.
Please visit http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg.php for the latest list of manufacturers and their associated MJPEG and JPEG URLs. Not all URLs will work with all models, so please let us know if either your webcam manufacturer is not listed or if none of the URLs work with your specific camera model.

The TrendNet TV-IP110W gets the multipart boundary error.
I have a URL of http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx/. it seems to accept the login information ok.
This unit is MJPEG only.

Cary - You need to use the MJPEG URL for your camera, which is different than the URL you use to view the webcam in a web browser.
You can find the MJPEG URL for your camera by going to http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg.php
Then enter the URL you gave in your post and select the manufacturer of your camera. The page will give you a list of possible URLs. Try each URL in iCamSource. If it says MJPEG next to the URL, then select MJPEG in iCamSource. If it says JPEG next to the URL, then select JPEG in iCamSource.

I tried that page several times prior to writing the blog. While I key in the information and select the TrendNet Manufacturer, nothing ever appears in the URL suggestion section (#3). I tried nearly every Manufacturer, is it possible it's not currently working properly? Thanks. BTW, I am using Vista and Windows Explorer in case you are wondering.

Cary - Yeah, I see that it isn't working on IE on Vista. We'll fix that soon. In the meantime, here are the TrendNet URLs that we're aware of. Please try all of them (till you find one that works)
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yy/cgi/mjpg/mjpeg.cgi - Select MJPEG in iCamSource
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yy/goform/capture - Select JPEG in iCamSource
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yy/cgi-bin/video.jpg - Select JPEG in iCamSource
Replace xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with your camera's IP and yy with your camera's port.
EDIT: The MJPEG URL help page (http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg.php) is now working on IE on Vista.

The first one worked like a charm. This is clearly one of the best apps I have purchased to date and the price is more thane fair. I'm using as a doggy cam now, but I can see security uses in the future.
Will you folks be adding sound in the future with IP cameras?
Also as a suggestion for the iphone app, when you enter into the full screen mode, it would be nice if you could scroll horizontally the differerent cameras, sort of like the way you wisk through picture when you view them.

Cary - I'm glad it worked for you!
Currently, the IP cam video support is still in testing mode. Once the video functionality has stabilized, we will investigate whether there are any audio standards that most IP cameras follow. If there is, we will probably add support for it.
Thanks for the suggestion. Other users have asked for similar functionality, so it is on our list of potential features to develop in the future.

Hello, I appreciate the forum very much. Wow this AP works great. I can not figure out how to switch back and forth between
my two computers. I have two set up, a PC and a Mac. both work but I need to change the username on my Ipod each time I want to
view a different camera.
The web sites show 4 feeds on the screen simutaneously.
I have the 4 screen, screen, but as stated, I only see one video streem. I have to hit the i button and then change
the settings to get the other one.

Did you figure out the TrendNet URL issue? If not, then are you running the latest version of the iCamSource BETA, 1.2.5?
As for having to change back and forth between cameras, if you enter the same login and password in both iCamSources (and iCam) you will be able to connect to and view both of them simultaneously.

Hi Guys,
I want to add additional cameras to my iMac, but they must be wireless. I saw your reference to the Linksys WVC54GCA and the Airlink 101 SkyIPcam 250W. I found them to purchase online, but they both list their compatibility with XP and Vista, but no reference to OS for the Mac. Will they work with the Mac? Thanks for your help.

I believe that some of their configuration does require Internet Explorer running in Windows, so you will only have access to a sub-set of their functionality if connecting from a Mac.

Soooooooooo, is there a wireless camera that you know of that would work with the iMac as an additional camera? Also, what would having access to the sub-set of their functionality mean to me? Thanks so much for your help.

I personally don't really know of any company's cameras that also support Mac besides Axis: http://www.axis.com
If I recall correctly the AirLink camera that I own doesn't let you stream audio from it through the web browser unless you are running Internet Explorer and have an ActiveX plugin installed. It can still be setup and video viewed from a Mac, but you just can't hear the audio.

We haven't tested that model personally, but we have gotten a couple of reports of success from other iCam users.

I finally was able to get my D-Link DCS-920 up and running on my mac but I'm unable to set it up in icamsource. I've tried all the URL's. Any help would be appreciated!

I'd Like to add that the Vivotek 715x series of IP Cams also work with the Mac.

valiums - Have you tried the MJPEG URLs for D-Link cameras at http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg.php ?
I believe that http://ip:port/video.cgi works for the DCS-900, so it may work for the DCS-920 as well.

I'm in the same boat as Vallium. I picked up the DCS 920 from Best Buy, the only camera Best Buy in Lansing stocks. I'm able to view my camera by typing in the url but I can't get anything from icam. Would it help to include the source from the url that I'm loading? Also, how do I know what port my cam is on?

I believe I have resolved this issue. I had to put in the url as:http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80/IMAGE.jpg - you'll notice that I had to include the port. In my case, the port was port 80 which I figured out by pulling up the source in safari (command + U).

Okay, so I have it all set up and working, but the images on my iphone and icam source only update about once every 8-15 seconds. I'm still using the dlink 920. Any suggestions. for what it's worth, the macbook's cam is not experiencing the same problem, nor am i experiencing the same problem when i open the camera in a browser.

And, I might add, I had to have it on the medium resolution as opposed to the full resolution.

The "IMAGE.jpg" URL is most likely giving you a static JPEG image as opposed to an MJPEG stream ... Do you have the JPEG radio button selected on the iCamSource?
Actually, I believe the correct MJPEG URL for that camera is: http://<ip:port>/video.cgi
