iCam Support / 4 Internet IP Camera Recommendations (Wired & Wireless)
« on: March 26, 2010, 07:19:19 PM »
I promised an update once all 4 cams were in place, so here ya go!

I'm using the following cameras:

Living Room: Linksys WVC54GCA
Garage: Airlink101 AIC250W
Back Porch: D-Link DCS-920
Study (Road): TrendNet TV-IP110W

I'm using them all wirelessly, they all have a reserved static IP based on their MAC address, each with a different associated port number because they each have their own Dynamic DNS. So not only can they be used by the iCam iPhone software I can also independently access each one via the Internet and view their video and/or access them as an Admin and modify their settings.

They were all very easy to set up too. Below is some basic info about each one.

If anyone has questions, beyond their regular features, about performance, GUI, quality, etc.. please just let me know.
Thanx!

Hi,

I'm looking at adding a 4th Wireless IP camera to my setup, does anyone have any experience with any of the following cams or suggestions for a cam in the $100 price range that works with the iCamSource software.

TRENDnet SecurView Internet Surveillance Camera TV-IP110
TRENDnet Wireless Internet Camera Server (TV-IP110W)
TRENDnet ProView Wireless Internet Surveillance Camera TV-IP100W-N (White)
TRENDnet ProView Wireless Advanced Pan/Tilt/Zoom Internet Surveillance Camera TV-IP400W
Panasonic Network Camera and Pet Cam (BLC1A)
D-Link DCS920 Wireless-G Internet Camera
Asante Voyager I Wireless Security Camera - 1.3 MegaPixels, CMOS Day & Night IP Camera, MPEG4

Thank you!

I have a 24" iMac running 10.6.2 & 2 Belkin 2.0 USB Hubs. I have a Linksys WVC54GCA, Xbox LIVE Vision Camera, MacAlly IceCam2 & an Airlink AIC250W. I just recently added the Xbox camera to the mix, until then I was using my internal iSight. I had been running 4 instances flawlessly (audio, video, motion, recording, etc..), but once I hooked up my Xbox camera it rarely shows up, displaying just empty/white video - plus it usually counteracts with the other 3 cameras causing them to lose their feeds or fail completely. I have the latest version of the iCamSource software for my Mac & my iPhone, plus all the latest firmware for all 4 cameras. I have tried different USB hub configurations, including plugging the Xbox camera directly into the Mac, but the same results. The only way I can get the Xbox cam to work is by only having 1 instance of the iCamSource software running. I have also tried with having no Login items load on Startup accept the 4 iCamSource apps. Still fails. I have tried activating the apps in a different order, tried opening all with auto-start off, etc... - everything seems to fail.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
-Doren
