: Foscam FI9821W support H.264
: iceonu April 03, 2013, 04:09:22 PM
I can't find any info on support for Foscam Fi9821W H.264 cameras.   I know previous posts have said there is no support for H.264 cameras,  has this changed yet?

Nope, no change. SKJM has said they might add support in the future, but no commitment so far.

Does the camera support this JPEG URL? - http://x.x.x.x/tmpfs/auto.jpg

That's odd. What do you see when you enter the same URL in your web browser?

im getting 404 - not found in browser and in icam now.  double checked url address, all looks ok.

Hmm. That's odd that the camera would do a 302 to a 404, basically redirecting to nothing. :(

The only other thing I would recommend trying is the MJPEG URL Test page to see if any of the URLs in our database also work with that camera: http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg_test.php

this command in the browser works for foscam FI9821W with the latest firmware

http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=admin&pwd=xxx

For anyone trying to get Foscam FI9821W to work with iCam.  These are the steps to take:

(1)Follow the instructions on this link to put one of the streams into MJPEG mode.   This needs to be done because the factory default has both streams in h.264 mode, which will not work with iCam.

http://foscam.us/forum/how-to-get-jpg-pictures-and-mj-stream-on-fi9821w-fi9801-02w-t4328.html

(2)Then use this command:  http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=admin&pwd=xxx

With ip address:port changed to yours and xxx being your camera's login password.

This command goes in the URL space in iCam Source.  Leave the Camera login and password both empty.

Hit start and your FI9821 camera should show up.

Does it still render video in 720p HD using this method?

I'm VERY curious about this. Would like a 720p camera on my front porch and have been eyeing this exact camera on amazon for a couple of weeks now...

I just saw this: http://foscam.us/forum/how-to-set-fi9821w-stream-1-to-jpeg-for-security-spy-t5085.html

So probably doesn't stream 720p. Maybe I'll run an ethernet cable over to the front porch, grrrrrr

Is there a way to get PTZ to work with this link?

Do the following links still cause the camera to move if you open them in your web browser? (Replacing x.x.x.x with the IP address of the camera.)

http://x.x.x.x/decoder_control.cgi?command=0&onestep=1
http://x.x.x.x/decoder_control.cgi?command=2&onestep=1
http://x.x.x.x/decoder_control.cgi?command=4&onestep=1
http://x.x.x.x/decoder_control.cgi?command=6&onestep=1

If the above links still work with the h.264 camera then we can add Pan-Tilt support for it with an update to the iCamSource, yes.

No PTZ will not work as well it wont be 720P.

From what I can find LiveCamsPro app is what will support this camera with PTZ and 720p.
