: Duplicate Cameras (iPhone 4.01 / Mac OS 10.6 / iCam Source 2.1 / iCam 2.0)
: gabek September 16, 2010, 06:02:37 PM
For some reason the camera that we have hooked up is showing up more than once in the iPhone app. Sometimes just twice, other times up to 6.  Any ideas?

Do you perhaps have duplicate cameras in your "Cameras" list?

No.  Only one camera is listed.

What is the make and model of the webcam or network IP camera that you are using?

I had similar issue, I was showing one of my 5 cams twice. But I found, closing and restarting iCamsource cured it.

Same thing after about 5/6 hours of resetting iCamSource (quitting) It duplicates all cameras...

Dean - Do the duplicates continue to update the video stream? Or are some stale / old? Also, are you using network IP cameras or USB webcams?

iJoe - Closing the iCamSource and re-starting doesn't get rid of the extra camera duplicates? Are the duplicates also updating, or are they old / stale images? Are you only using USB webcams, or are you also using network IP cameras?

They're live, and even seem to be slowing the framerates down. If I quit and realunch iCamSource it goes back to normal. There's no real pattern I can see as to it acting up. I did not have the problem with the beta if that helps...

I am using two USB and three IP, they all get doubled and if I leave it long enough, trippled.

When the cameras are duplicated, is it consistently all 5 cameras? Or only one or two (or a few) at a time? It may be that an internal watchdog timer is firing and resetting everything, but the old threads are not being closed down appropriately.

Ive only ever seen it once where it wasnt every camera being duplicated. Every other time it's all the cameras.

I am going to be running a number of iCamSources connecting to both WiFi and USB cameras to see if I can replicate the issue.

Thanks again for your patience. :)

UPDATE : We were able to replicate the "duplicate camera" symptoms, and believe we have fixed it in this latest version: http://skjm.com/icam/iCamSource2.1.2.dmg

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks! :)
