iCam Pro Support / H264 support being worked on?
« on: June 26, 2015, 03:30:19 AM »
Hi,

Since it seems like all the higher end cameras will only broadcast in h264 now (at 720p and 960p resolutions) I was wondering if you guys are currently working on h264 support.  I would like the higher quality images, but the only way those newer cameras work with iCam (at least the ones that I've found) require streaming a lower quality image.

I'm also completely open to an 720p - preferably 960p resolution camera recommendations that work with iCam Pro - I'm sure I can't be alone in preferring this.

Thank you for your time.

iCam Pro Support / Re: Apple Watch support?
« on: June 26, 2015, 03:23:40 AM »
Is this a matter of figuring out how to turn the video that set off the motion into an animated GIF? Is that the reason for the delay? I can see that WatchOS 1.0 does support GIFs...

As a purchaser of iCam Pro, also, I feel like my money has been wasted on it since getting my Apple Watch. :)

Does the Apple Watch app allow to stop recording/turn off all notifications, or does that still need to happen on the iPhone? If it's iPhone only right now, is that something that is planned on being implemented?

SUPER GREAT IDEA for APPLE WATCH!
Since watching video on a 4:3 screen is not practical, how about "Face-Detection" as an add-on. Anytime the camera picks up a face it would automatically alert/send the detected Face to the apple watch.

That really is a fantastic idea - and I do know that Apple introduced a public API for face detection in iOS a couple of versions back, but I don't know if they did for OS X - maybe this is something that could be implemented on the iOS side of things and then pushed to the Apple Watch?

As far as I know, there isn't any other video monitoring software that has implemented anything like that!

That's great to hear - looks like I will be switching to the regular iCam app until you guys get that out.. (I was lucky enough to be in the first batch, so my Apple Watch will hopefully be coming this Friday.)

And thank you for the quick reply and explanation why you only updated iCam, and not iCam Pro yet.

Will there be an update to iCam Pro coming soon that includes the same Apple Watch support?

Thank you again for a terrific piece of software!

Ah! I had not realized that every camera had its own login - everything is now working. Thank you!

The Auto-Config Router was already checked, and it says "NAT-PMP Success 13002 -> 13002

The thing is - I can always connect to iCamSource Pro from outside my network, what I'm not understanding is why only one of my three camera appears in the iOS app, when all three appear in iCamSource Pro.  I have no issues, at all, seeing all three cameras in iCamSource (no-pro)

Using the same settings as iCamSource (and seeing all three cameras in the iOS app), I can see all three of my cameras with iCamSource Pro - it looks like it's working perfectly.  However, I can only see one of the three cameras inside the iCam Pro app on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air, running iOS 8.0.2.  I noticed the last version of the iCam Pro app was released before iOS 8 was released, and I'm wondering if it's just an issue of updating the app?  I love the features, and would love to use it, but I'm unable to.

Thank you for your time.

iCam Support / We need to pay extra now for consistent connections???
« on: September 16, 2013, 03:14:49 PM »
I have been using iCam almost since it was the day it was released, and have never had an issue with connecting.  Now I am consistently seeing error messages about using a proxy server, and either waiting until one is available in order to connect to my home machine (and that option is free, but so far, unreliable), or I can pay for temporary access to a paid, private proxy, and when that runs out, then pay again.

What happened here? I don't see anything about this on the homepage, iTunes description, or FAQ and this seems to be a major change to the way this software works. People will by buying this software not knowing they will need to continue paying to use it.

Please tell me these connections issues are some kind of growing pains or something and that this will all be worked out.  I wanted to find out what's going on here before submitting a revised review on the App Store...

Thank you for your time.

I was wondering if any developers that have been beta testing iOS 7 have used the iCam app successfully?  I've been on the fence about joining Apple's developer program and wanted to install iCam on the latest iOS beta - but not if breaks the iCam...

Thank you in advance.
