: Cheap USB cameras
: herbmann August 31, 2010, 12:26:02 PM
Just for grins I thought I would buy a Logitech C260...only $29. It is USB so I am just thinking of getting my feet wet before going wireless. Anybody know if these cameras will worke with iCam?

Any USB that is compatible with your computer and operating system should be also compatible with the iCamSource and iCam.

Worked great so I bought a second one for my wife's computer. So, that's not working so great. Can't I have a iCamSource on two different computers tied to one iPhone app. When I try to set preferences on my wife's computer, iCamS shuts down.

It sounds like the iCamSource is crashing on your wife's computer, is that correct? What operating system is it running? Do you have all of the latest operating system updates installed as well as the latest webcam drivers? Is the webcam plugged directly into the computer and not into a USB hub or switch?

For some reason, the logitech camera software did not install.

NOW, here is a link to a camera that looks good to me. Any thoughts from anyone?

Not sure, as it doesn't specify if it supports MJPEG video streaming or not.  ???
