: Yet another feature request....
: waynem July 12, 2011, 12:56:28 AM
Would be great if the iCamSource software could be triggered to start when the iPhone's location leaves home. (I think location API's are available in both IOS & 10.7 Lion. Don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but it would be a great feature.

A location-based trigger has been requested in the past and is currently on our list of potential features to implement in the future. Unfortunately, we do not have any immediate plans to release this type of feature.

Nevermind, I've found a bluetooth workaround to achieve this.

Thanks for the reply though.

I'm using a mac, so that's all I can refer to here.

Check out a free app called Proximity. It monitors whether a bluetooth device (your phone) is within bluetooth range or not & can trigger applescripts when the phone is both in and out of range of the host computer.

I have applescripts to open icamsource when the phone is out of bluetooth range and quit icamsource when it's within bluetooth range & it seems to be working well.

Just make sure Autostart is checked in icamsource preferences.

Hope this helps.
