Title: Foscam FI8608W
Post by: LabradorNYC on January 24, 2012, 05:23:06 AM
New unit for Foscam. Pretty decent. It is H.264 so it differs from the prior FI8910W -- which works great with pan/tilt, by the way.

It also has N networking, so it's a worthwhile upgrade from the earlier units.

I am SOL because of the H.264? I'm finding more and more the newer units are moving that way.

iCam supports Built-In, FireWire or USB Webcams and DV Cameras as well as select MJPEG-compatible Network IP Cameras.

Support for H.264 has been requested in the past and is currently on our list of potential features to implement in the future.

yup. Bummer. The trend in cams is certainly to h.264 so I hope we get this sooner than later.
