Motion not Detected
« on: October 08, 2011, 12:02:36 PM »
I hope someone can help me out. I'm new to iCam.  It works great on both 3g and local Wifi.  I'm running iCamSource 2.3.4.1 beta on an old Macbook Pro Core Duo running Leopard.  I'm connecting use iCam on an old iPhone 3g running iOS 3.1.3.

Notifications are enabled for the iPhone as well as the iCam app.
iCamSource preferences indicate "Connected to Server", which it obviously is since I get video just fine.

iCamSource has both Send Notifications and Record Motion checked.

Not matter what I do the little Motion light never turns green.  Naturally I never get a notification on the iPhone either.  Any hints / tips / help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

One more thing.  I just tried the same setup on my newer 2009 Macbook Pro.  That works just fine.  And in case I wasn't explicit the machine which isn't detecting motion is a 15" Core Duo (32bit) Macbook Pro.  This is the original model.

I'd like to use this machine for monitoring as I generally have my other Macbook pro with me.
Are there an log files I can check?  Could this be related to Leopard?  The newer machine is running Snow Leopard.

Once again, thanks for any help.

Have you tried adjusting the motion detection sensitivity to More Sensitive?

Actually, I've just been able to reproduce this on our test Leopard system. It seems that some of the changes made to improve performance with Lion have had some adverse effects on Leopard.

I would suggest using version 2.3.3 in the meantime with Leopard while we get this issue sorted out: http://skjm.com/icam/iCamSource2.3.3.dmg

Ok, I have uploaded a new version (2.3.4.2 BETA) that should fix the issue in Leopard: http://skjm.com/icam/iCamSource2.3.4.2.dmg

Please let me know if that version works for you.

Thanks! :)
