iCam Support / Icam reset tool
« on: February 06, 2011, 07:25:54 PM »
I couldnt find a Icam reset tool out there for when your connection drops i dont know about you but for me it is a real pain when I am away from my computer as I often cannot remote back to reset icam.  Therefore I created a VERY basic VB.net tool which launches Icam for a total time that you specify the tool then counts down untill it reaches 0 and then process kills the icam task... after about 10 seconds the tool restarts icam again with the time you specified and starts the count down again, this carrys on over and over until you quit it.
(this is the best way i found to keep my connection alive for long periods of time it resets mine every 12 hours, so in 24 hours the connection is down for about 20 seconds while it stops and restarts, additionally the best thing i found is if the connection is lost after say 8 hours then I know I only have 4 hours and the connection is restored)

its not the neatest program as i am bad at programming however I could find no other apps out there that restart Icam, and this one i made works so my point is if anyone would find a tool like this useful then I am more than happy to share it.  let me know.

however if there is already such a tool then please delete this post.

iCam Support / Re: AVG & ICAM - false positive?
« on: October 23, 2010, 03:47:26 AM »
ok since i posted this AVG has updated again.

I therefore decided to removed Icam from the allowed list rule in avg, i then rebooted.  after reboot I tried launching and scanning ICAMSOURCE.EXE and it scanned as normal with no moaning therefore all i can assume is it was that night update that misidentified the application.

you might as well delete this topic now, or leave it for referance up to you.

Hi Guys, AVG tonight popped up asking to delete ICAMSOURCE.EXE I am sure its a false positive however I thought I would let you know, I searched for AVG and saw no other topics.

""21/10/2010, 23:03:12";"NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM";"IDP";"Process ICAMSOURCE.EXE was detected.""

Beta Testing / Re: iCamSource 2.0 BETA
« on: August 31, 2010, 01:54:14 PM »
Hi this is my fisrt post, and I would like to say thankyou for a great app I purchased it this week after seeing it in the newspaper in the UK.

down to business, I installed beta 2.0 (windows) and I must admit everything about it is more simple aka it just works well apart from the sound..  I have had no sound on any webcam (I get ringer volume on iphone 3g) I have tried a HP Premium KQ245AA, Microsoft Quickcam and another wireless security cam which I do not have the details for atm.

my system is win 7 amd 64 3000 with 4 gig ram the testing I have done is as follows.
  • I have checked my sound on each device using skype and sound settings in control panel to ensure sound is on and ok - all worked as expected
  • I have rebooted the PC with no change in icam
  • I have tried diffrent USB ports and also tried a hub - no help
  • I have no errors in the event logs
  • i have no errors on launching the application
  • and finally I run this test machine DMZ and without a proxy so doubt its would be a port problem

so after getting bored of trying to figure the sound issue out I decided to roll back to the current stable version 1.4.2.5 and the sound worked as intended of the bat, therefore I thought I would let you know that there might be an issue with the sound and the beta 2.0 for windows.
If you already know this is an issue then please delete this topic, or if its because I would require version 2.0 on the iphone so it matches the client then let me know and I will wait for the release of 2.0 on the app store finally if you would like me to do any further testing or to try anything out then please feel free to ask.

Many Thanks,
knighty101
