use cellular data setting iOS 7
« on: October 01, 2013, 08:04:31 PM »
I have specifically set iFarkle to never use cellular data in Settings, yet when opening the app it often reports that cellular data is turned off. Ads at the top load right away, and before the warning, it seems.

Wifi is on and connected. This also happens in one other game; it hasn't been updated for a year.

Been trying to reproduce it to find any commonality. Just happened in the middle of a game, which is new. Usually it happens upon opening. I think the ad did change just then, but still coincidental.

We believe that this is a bug in iOS 7, as we do not explicitly pop-up that message. We were able to replicate it by disabling Cellular Data for iFarkle Free but still being connected via WiFi. When on LTE the message does not appear, and ads do not load.

It appears that other users are experiencing the same bug with other apps:

Unfortunately there does not appear to be a fix for the issue at the moment. Hopefully Apple will update iOS 7 to not continuously pester users who have disabled Cellular Data on specific apps.

Thanks for your confirmation. I haven't found any discussions, including your examples, that this is happening while connected to a wifi network. All of them are during cellular-only connections.

Perhaps this unique variation of triggering iOS 7's bug would be helpful in isolating it.
