My Linksys WVC80N died, what to replace it with?
« on: August 23, 2015, 06:27:36 AM »
Looks like its not been available for some time now.

It was a great camera it lasted me over five years, but now no image and drops from the network if it actually will turn on.

What I liked about it was the design and the image quality for a device with no night vision it was rather good in low light.

Would like a basic camera just like the Linksys I don't need pan/tilt I have foscams for that, in fact I got a new foscam and didn't know it would not work with iCamSource as it's a H264 one :(

Looking around it just seems like the d-link is going to be my only option, unless you guys have any ideas?

Can I use any of the dropcam that nest have or are they running H264? I like the looks of them but I can't find any specs on them.

Thank you for your post. iCam supports Built-In, FireWire or USB Webcams and DV Cameras as well as select MJPEG-compatible Network IP Cameras. We discuss the cameras that we've tested with on the forum here: http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=908.0

From a quick Google search (http://support.dropcam.com/entries/21744708-Dropcam-Specifications-Technical-Specs-) it looks like Dropcam supports H.264 and therefore is not compatible with iCam.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
