How do I get my webcam's URL?
« on: August 21, 2009, 05:38:01 AM »
I have no Idea where to find this?
There is nothing in the instructions that explain it either?
Do I just make one up?
Or is it in my computer? or is it in my router?

This page may help you find the URL for your wireless Network/IP webcam.

I went to that page and the first thing it asked is this Enter my URL?

Step 1 : Enter the URL you use to connect to your camera :

Like I said, How do I know what my URL is? What do I enter here?

I personally dont have a wireless webcam so I'm kind of guessing now, but I would think a URL would be included in the manual.

Timoswald2020's webcam is not a WiFi or Ethernet network IP camera - http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=429.0

I just have the basic Veo webcam, it is wired to my usb port. No wireless
I went to the website and it ask the same question. How do you get the answer?
How do I know what my URL is that connects me to the internet?
Is it my computer IP address?

Step 1 : Enter the URL you use to connect to your camera :     http://
   For example:
http://192.168.1.240
http://mysite.dyndns.org:5000

You do not need to enter a URL if you are using a USB webcam. Once you have chosen your camera in the Video drop-down and clicked Start, you will be able to connect to your webcam with iCam on your iPhone by entering the same iCam Login and Password that you used in the iCamSource on your computer.

Are you trying to view a USB webcam or a network IP camera? The MJPEG URL is only for standalone network IP cameras like the Linksys WVC54GCA - http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WVC54GCA

If you are trying to connect to a hard-wired USB or FireWire webcam or a webcam built into your computer, then it should be listed in the Video drop-down list under the USB / FireWire / Built-In tab of the iCamSource.

Are you trying to use your iPhone as a webcam? If so, then that is not possible. iCam allows you to stream webcam video feeds from your computer to your iPhone or iPod touch.

If you are not trying to use your iPhone as a webcam, what type of webcam are you trying to view? (What is the make and model?)
