« on: February 09, 2012, 10:11:21 AM »
Can this camera be used with iCam, it seems like a new model, I have the FI8918W which works fine.

Is anyone using this new model yet after doing some searches I can not find much on it.

We haven't tested with that particular camera, but according that models specifications (http://foscam.us/foscam-fi8910w-white-wireless-ip-camera.html) it does output MJPEG formatted data so, it'll probably work with iCamSource.

I'm going to buy it. Sounds like a nice upgrade.  Not sure how it will all work but should be fine.  I don't understand their software option that you can buy at the same time. Blue something, it's called.  Has iPhone and iPad app which is what I need, but if I can use it with iCam, that's my plan.   ;D

I got the new camera yesterday, I can confirm it works fine with iCam, it's the same software wise as the older model. The swipe to move the camera works fine.

In terms of colour during the day the new model is way better.

Now if only iCam could access the audio, that would be perfect.

Have you tried the new BETA version of the iCamSource? - http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=3932.0

Just installed that and it does indeed work, but it's all just static buzzy noise.

The Foscam audio is pretty low-fi and noisy. Does the audio sound different than what you hear from the camera when listening through your web browser?

None of my browsers seem to work with audio at all.

On Mac with 10.7.3

If you try to enable audio through the web Internet you are prompted to download a plugin from http://www.videolan.org/

We haven't tried installing the VLC plugin, but you can also view the camera's audio / video using the VLC player application from VideoLAN by choosing File > Open Network and then entering http://x.x.x.x/videostream.asf as the URL where x.x.x.x is the camera's IP address.
