There is no drop-down menu at the page you linked. If you are seeing a drop-down, it's likely previous entries that you typed into the box on the left. You need to follow the format that I provided in the example. The only thing I didn't identify in my example was the IP address, which was "192.168.20.50".

Your first step is to identify the IP address of the camera. In Windows 7, you can probably find this by browsing the "Network" (I have a link on my desktop titled "Network". If you are missing it, Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Network -- top middle icon). This is the IP address that you use to access the camera's login page from Internet Explorer/Safari/etc on your computer. The login/username and password is what you use on the camera's login page to access the camera's settings. If you are unsure what the username and password are for your camera, they are likely still the defaults, which can be found in your camera's documentation. So if the IP address of your camera was 192.168.20.50 (it won't be), and the default or current username was "admin" and the password was "123456", you would enter the following in the left box on the page that you linked (and leave the right box set to 80):

admin:123456@192.168.20.50

Not sure what happened to SKJM support, but you need both the login and password separated by a colon. Example if the login/username is "admin" and the password is "123456":

admin:123456@192.168.20.50

Have you tried that format?

Thank you Stefan. No guest network and computer is assigned a single static IP address (only one network adapter, no WiFi).

I posted too soon...I can connect over the cell network without issue, but it times out when my phone is connected to my home Wi-Fi (the same network the icamsource is on). This issue didn't exist on my old phone (3GS...yes, I went 6 years before upgrading my phone), as I was able to connect flawlessly from both the cell network and my home Wi-Fi. Nothing changed other than the device that iCam is running on...no network changes. Any ideas?

It's working fine on my iPhone 6/iOS 8...but I restored from a backup, which included my login information. The only issue is the one the OP posted.

I'm thinking you will probably need an Android app (similar to SKJM's ipCam app for iOS) that will convert your tablet's camera into an IP camera so that you can add it as a source in icamsource on your PC. That's just an educated guess, though. You could try the app linked below (which looks to be free) or the Pro version of the same app (which is $4). It mentions MJPEG stream at some point in the description, so hopefully you can find the correct URL to use. SKJM has 2 tools (you can look through my old posts...I've posted the links several times) to help find the correct URL.

If the above works, you'll want to assign a static IP address to your tablet (can usually be done on most recent routers). Other than that, you might just need to expand the number of ports forwarded through your router (and in icamsource) IF you're using manual port forwarding. Otherwise, you might just reboot your router and computer after configuring it to make sure uPNP entries in the router are updated when using the auto-config setting in icamsource for the router.

Not sure if this problem still exists, but in the past, icamsource.exe would sometimes crash on me if I did not have my port forwarding set up correctly. When I would open iCam on my phone, it would attempt to connect to icamsource. My network settings (on the router and/or in icamsource) prevented a successful connection...and icamsource would crash. Is icamsource crashing only when you open iCam on your phone/iPad? If the crash happens regardless of if the iCam app is open, have you made sure that it's not a driver issue with one of your USB cameras or built-in cameras (assuming you have one)? If you don't have any USB or built-in cameras, and/or it's not occurring only when iCam is open, then I am at a loss. If you have firewall software, have you tried temporarily disabling it to see if it crashes with the firewall disabled?

It's actually a registry entry on Windows machines. Run regedit.exe and navigate to the key below.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SKJM, LLC

In the left column, right-click on "SKJM, LLC" and click export. Save the file on a flash drive. On the new computer, install icamsource.exe and make sure that it is not running (no icon in the system tray). If you are using USB cameras, make sure they are plugged in and have the drivers installed. If using IP cameras, make sure the IP addresses haven't changed (they shouldn't have)...then stick the flash drive in the new computer, and double-click on the file and confirm that you want to import it. Finally, run icamsource.exe to verify that the settings are there. This should work!

I think rjgvt's method is going to be the most cost effective and best choice in the long term. I have a cheap pan/tilt camera with a few IR "bulbs" circling the lens. Some of those IR bulbs have quit working, so the night vision has diminished as more and more bulbs quit working. If you get a camera with built-in IR, you'll eventually have to replace the camera or take it apart to replace the IR board. It's much easier to replace a flood light or 2 when they burn out. Plus, you get color images (with realistic color) and more detail.

If the burglars are still alive, they're lucky...they probably wouldn't be if they got caught down here in Texas. We shoot first and ask questions later. lol

Great tip on the siren. If I didn't live in a neighborhood with a bunch of stray cats and other random nocturnal wildlife, I'd definitely wire a siren up.

You can convert a Foscam or cheap knockoff to POE using a car USB charger, or you can buy a PoE converter. The main issue with this is the risk of placing one of these indoor cameras outdoors. You can get a Foscam knockoff for $60 or so...maybe worth the risk of mounting it outdoors under an eave that protects from rain, sun, etc. If it dies in a year or 2, perhaps it was worth the cost? I'm going to risk it, and have read other people say they've had good luck with it (as long as it's a protected area). I purchased some PoE equipment from wifi-soft.com. I had some questions about limitations, product ideas, etc, and personal customer service was provided by a guy named Murray. I believe he's the US sales rep for the company, which is international. Murray was very helpful. I'm pretty sure they have exactly what you'd need if you decide to try out a cheap pan/tilt camera (or even cheaper non-pan/tilt camera) outdoors. For what it's worth, I've used some cheap non-pan/tilt cameras in a gutted house (I'm remodeling) for a couple of years. Texas summers are hell, and I haven't had a hiccup (120 degrees + in the house). I also haven't had issues with temperatures in the teens. It's been everywhere from 95% humidity to extremely dry, no issues. The main issues with the indoor cameras it to keep them dry (and relatively clean).

You have the push notifications enabled for iCam in Settings > Notifications? And you have the push notifications turned on in iCam for your camera(s)?

I haven't tried it, but if you try it, I think your best bet would be to use non-HD webcams (preferably 640x480). Any resolution larger than that will significantly increase the CPU % required because the images will be to be resized before being sent to iCam. I use 4 IP cameras with my system, and have no problems, especially since the images are 640x480 and I have the frame rate set to 5fps. Another downside to webcams is that you can't change the fps.

I know it doesn't answer your question, but hopefully it will help guide you in case nobody else responds. If you build a new computer and it can't handle 4 USB cameras, you can look into IP cameras.

I don't think you're going to find anything remotely affordable in terms of webcams or IP cams and the level of magnification that you need. You could maybe try to rig some binoculars or small (kid-size) telescope between the camera and display, but that would be difficult...and any bump and you'd have to start all over. If you have a little soldering ability, perhaps you could remove the digital readout then cut or desolder the wires attaching it and solder in some longer wires (just long enough to where the temperature isn't too hot for the camera)? Of course, you could potentially ruin the thermometer...and it probably isn't cheap given the temperature range it measures.

Another possibility, if you have a DV camcorder with a firewire port and a computer with a firewire port, it should be possible to use it as a camera source in iCam (although I haven't tested it, and I'm not sure if it would require additional drivers). If your camcorder has a quality zoom, you might be able to use it.

You could use DropBox (most of the users on these boards use DropBox), Box (not sure if they have a desktop syncing software currently, but they are offering 50GB of free storage space if you download their app and register for/activate an account before February 15, 2014), Google Drive, or some other cloud storage syncing service on your computer...then change the icamsource recording folder to one of the folders that is synced to your cloud storage (so the recorded events will automatically be uploaded)...then you could browse your motion events while the computer is asleep. But do realize that if you allow your computer to enter sleep mode, it will not be monitoring/recording motion events. If you're using iCam as a method of security, it would be best to disable sleep mode so you have 24/7 monitoring and access.
